Perfecting your skincare routine takes time, money, and energy. Don’t let it go to waste the second you go on vacation. It’s easy to forget your normal routine when you’re out all day at the beach, waterpark, or theme park but consistency is key.
A Disney vacation is not to be underestimated. Whether you’re visiting Disney World in Orlando or Disneyland in Anaheim, you can bet on 12-15 hour days and lots of sun…or rain if you’re heading to Disney World.
Before you finalize your Disney trip check the weather at the park. Some seasons have extreme heat with 100+ degree days with humidity and others will have torrential rains. Weather plays a huge part in your day, activities planned, and what you pack. So having that figured out first, will really help with planning what to pack and how to handle skincare for the trip.
This post is all about what type of skincare items to pack for your Disney vacation.
As a maximalist, I really believe in packing everything but I know that’s not always possible or even reasonable.
If you’re not into taking everything you own on your vacation then traveling light is key, meaning the bare essentials. So what are the essential skincare items you will need for your next Disney vacation?

Don’t forget to pack these essential skincare items for your next Disney vacation.
#1 SPF
You should have a strong SPF in your kit to use every day but especially on vacation and especially if you’re on a Disney vacation. The Anaheim and Orlando heat is on another level. Even on cloudy days, sunscreen is a must. Those are always the days you get the worst burns.
I recommend wearing your daily face SPF and also a stronger full body SPF. Be sure to get something that’s easy to reapply while you’re in the parks. Try reapplying your SPF 3-4 times throughout the day, especially if you’re going on water rides or heading to the hotel pool.
Spray sunscreens are easy to apply all day, especially for reapplying face sunscreen. Small stick sunscreens are also convenient for travel and storing in your bag. I’ve tried out a few, here are the ones I recommend and have also found hold up best for a long day in the sun at a Disney Park.
#2 Moisturizer
Pack your moisturizer! It may seem obvious but this is an easy step to skip. You think you’re covered with the SPF but the long days in the sun and humidity can really take a toll on your skin. Lock in that moisture and reapply during the day.
#3 Lip Balm
Protect those lips. Dry and chapped lips can be irritating and take away from your day. Be sure to stay hydrated and keep your lips moisturized with a good SPF lip balm.
#4 Cleanser
A good cleanser can make all the difference. Cleansing your skin morning and night helps to not just clean but also freshen, hydrate, and remove excess oils and pollutants.
There are a few different types of cleansers so be sure to do your research and find one that works best for you. Some people prefer a cleanser that’s lighter and doesn’t remove makeup, others prefer ones that remove makeup. I use a makeup removing balm and toner and a cleanser at night. So see what works best in your nightly routine but also your travel routine.
For trips, it may be easier to pack a cleanser that does multiple things to cut back on how much you need to pack.
#5 Serums
Serums create an extra barrier on your skin while providing much-needed vitamins and nutrients. Vitamin C serum is an essential part of a daily routine – especially when traveling and in the sun a lot.
Look for balance when you’re picking the right serums to travel with. Like cleansers, serums can help with multiple things, like hydration, blemishes, anti-aging, and brightening.
For traveling, I would suggest something for hydration and if you have extra space in your bag you can add in anything else you would like to focus on.
Extra Packing Tips
It can be difficult to pack in all of your favorites without overpacking, that’s why you need to be organized – especially if you’re packing a lot.
Using packing cubes or travel bags with lots of compartments helps keep things neat and easier to use throughout your trip.
The biggest tip would be to invest in good travel bags. This can look like a makeup bag, travel packing cubes, a reliable suitcase, and a great carry-on bag. I’ve included links to everything I’ve purchased, used, and LOVED for all of my trips.
A few other essentials skincare items to pack for travel and even short local vacations:
- Makeup Removing Wipes (in case you’re too tired to wash your face)
- Cleansing Wipes or a Toner
- Pimple Patches: These are super popular right now and some brands are so cute! They can help to minimize the appearance and time of a breakout.
- Water: Yes, this is a skincare essential. Stay hydrated! LiquidIV or DripDrops are also great to help you stay hydrated. These were a lifesaver on our last trip to Disneyland when it was over 100 degrees.
- Face Mask: a good face mask can help with hydrating your skin, calming redness after a warm day, and also make you feel luxurious and bring a bit of calm to your long day.
- Pack your own pillow or pillowcase and white face towels: My esthetician recommends only using white cotton towels to pat dry my face. The dyes in towels and pillowcases can be irritating for sensitive skin.
- Hydrating Mist: Rosewater or another of your favorite essentials oils mixed with water is a great way to refresh your skin during the day and also before bed.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post about the essential skincare items you need to pack for your Disney vacation. If you have any suggestions on what else to include or what products have worked best for you, please let me know.
I understand there is a lot to plan for your Disney trip and you want everything to be perfect. Please remember you’re there to have fun, so if every ride and reservation doesn’t work out it’s still going to be a great time. And above all else, your skin will look radiant (hehehe).
Enjoy your trip! And remember to wear sunscreen!
