What Outfits to Pack for Coachella
When packing for Coachella, it’s essential to be ready for every moment, from the high-energy dance sessions to those lazy, laid-back afternoons in your hotel room or in your tent.
Consider saving your most comfortable outfits for days 2 and 3, as fatigue sets in and simplicity reigns supreme.
Plan for all levels of energy by including a mix of relaxed loungewear and statement festival attire.
And don’t forget to prepare for the ever-changing weather of the desert—pack layers for chilly nights and sun protection for scorching days.
Here’s a breakdown of every type of outfit you need to plan for Coachella.

Driving to Coachella Outfit
Let’s face it: road trips can either be a blast or a bore, depending on your level of comfort. That’s why your driving outfits need to strike the perfect balance between comfortable and cute.
Think of matching sets that are as easy to throw on, comfortable for a long drive but also cute for the endless photos I know you’ll be taking during the trip.
There are a ton of spots to stop for cute pics along the way to Coachella, so you’re not going to want to go full pajama-style but definitely more tame than your festival outfits.
Lounge Wear: Relaxing Around Camp or Your Hotel
Once you’ve arrived at the festival grounds or in the surrounding area, it’s time to kick back and relax…but just for a bit because there’s too much fun to be had.
Again, opt for a loungewear set that’s breezy and layers well with a swimsuit if you’re at a hotel. Something still cute and comfy but a little more dressed up for cute pics as you run around your hotel or the campgrounds.
Rompers are another great option for this. Sticking to something that needs little to no “fixing” is perfect.

Sleepwear
After a day filled with dancing and daydreaming, you’ll want to drift off to sleep something ridiculously comfortable.
If you’re camping, you’re going to want to stick with a pajama set with pants or shorts. Something that’s not too sheer so that you can walk around camp quickly to use the restroom and wash your face.
If you’re at a hotel, then the world is your oyster – sleep in whatever you want! I love the silk pajama sets from Papinelle. If you’re staying with a group it could be fun to all wear matching pajamas.
Festival Outfits: Daytime Outfits and Evening Outfits
Ah, the moment we’ve all been waiting for – festival outfits! Whether you’re basking in the sun or dancing under the stars, your daytime and evening ensembles need to be on point.
I don’t even want to try to pick out your festival outfit because I already know you’re going to look great in whatever you wear. My only tip is to wear closed-toed shoes. That, and be sure to pack a big enough bag to hold all of your essentials.
Driving Home From Coachella Outfit
Your drive-home outfit isn’t like your driving-to Coachella outfit – it’s a lot simpler. You’re going to be waking up half-dead and ready to GTFO.
This is where the sweatpants and oversized shirts come in handy. As much as I want to say you’re going to have time and energy for much more than that, I really cant.
Stick with your favorite “low-key” home outfit. I went for my favorite drawstring shorts and oversized shirt combo and then threw on my Crocs. It’s a real survival type of situation.
Extras to Pack: Must-Have Accessories
Last but certainly not least, remember to pack those essential extras that really make every outfit. This means comfortable close-toed shoes, cute sun protection that goes with your outfit, and all of the bangles and necklaces you can think of. And don’t forget the glitter, glitter is always necessary.
Packing for Coachella
I hope this list has been able to help you get organized and prep for Coachella. I love to plan outfits for every moment of a trip, big or small.
You’re going to have a blast at the festival and I can’t wait to see what you wear!!!
Let me know if there any other moments I missed during Coachella weekend. And if you’re going to a brand party – be sure to pack some extra outfits for that too!
See you there!
XOXO,
Julia
