Happy July and happy hot season at Disneyland. Also, this summer has been humid. Not fun at all.
But will we brave the heat and humidity!?! Yes, we will!
I had two fun trips to Disneyland this month. Both solo outings.
I’ve been loving my solo Disney days because I just get to read and shop all day while sipping on a matcha, and that’s definitely my kind of lifestyle.
But let’s dive into the outfits and what you can expect while visiting the parks in July.

What to Wear to Disneyland in July
July at Disneyland is hot. Like, you-sweat-standing-still hot. But we still want to look cute, right?
That’s the balance – something breathable, comfortable, and theme park functional without sacrificing style.
My go-to outfits for July are lightweight sets, breezy dresses and not an insane amount of layers.
I would like to say that I keep things super ‘functional’ with my outfits, but I’m a total maximalist. I layer on all the jewelry – not the best for intense heat but I sweat through it. Hehe
For the non-maximalists out there, I suggest maybe some simple accessories like Mickey ears, a cute necklace or maybe decorating your bag.
Something realistic for YOU.
Tips for Going to Disneyland in July
Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate. I always bring a reusable water bottle. It’s easy to get caught up in the rides and snacks and forget how fast the heat drains you.
I will also have a matcha and then a Cocoa Puffs Cold Brew and then some other type of themed drink before I’ve realized that I haven’t had water in 5 hours. Don’t be me.
Pack your water and drink it.
Also – shade is your friend. I take breaks often and enjoy long strolls through the shops. PLUS, I always pack my umbrella. Keeping the sun directly off you helps so much.
A hat is great too but please don’t forget that umbrella!
Take advantage of cooler hours. This means starting your day early and taking breaks midday to avoid the sun and then heading back to the parks when the temps start to drop again.
It’s better if you have extra time in your trip or have Genie+, but if you can even take a 1-2 hour break midday, you’re body and sanity will thank you.
What to Pack for Disneyland in July
In addition to the usual must-haves (sunscreen, portable charger, sunglasses), I always pack a mini fan, umbrella, and extra deodorant. I’m a stickler about washing my hands often, so I pack my antibacterial wipes and also my Touchland hand sanitizer.
I also keep a few little lifesavers in my park bag: pain reliever, stomach medicine, hand lotion, and a Tide pen or Shout wipe.
Don’t forget your MagicBand+ if you’re using one, and a Ziploc bag for your phone on water rides.
What I Wore to Disneyland in July
Colorful Disneyland Outfit
- Orange Plaid Anthropologie Dress
- Blue Nike sneakers
- Green plush Toy Story Rex bag
- Silver Sequin Top
- Bauble Bar Charm Necklace
I had so much fun with this outfit!! I picked up this new plaid orange dress from Anthropologie and haven’t stopped wearing it. It sparks way too much joy!
I wanted to jazz it up with lots of color, so I paired it with my blue Nike suede sneakers and a green plush bag. Of course, the plush bag had to be Disney. I ordered this plush Toy Story Rex bag from AliExpress.
I was struggling with what to layer underneath the dress and remembered I had a fun sequin top from a few years ago. I ended up loving it!!
I always randomly wear things years later – this is why I can never get rid of anything. You never know when you’re going to need it.
Yes, my closet is exploding. No, I don’t see it as a problem. I just need a bigger closet 😂
I layered on a couple of necklaces for this trip. Both of the Disney charm necklaces are from Bauble Bar.
And then I made all but one of my bracelets. Most of my rings are also from Disneyland but also from Forever 21 (RIP).
@julia.vaness Sunny Disney day and I realized a bit too late why it was so empty…my bad. #disneyday #disneyland #summerdisneylandoutfit #summerdisneyoutfit #dopaminedressing #disneydopaminedressing #colorfuldisneyoutfits #maximalism #maximaliststyle #maximalistdisneystyle #maximalistdisneyoutfit #disneyoutfits #disneystyle ♬ original sound – Julia Vaness
Goofy Themed Disney Outfit
- Small Shop After All Goofy Shirt
- Black skirt
- Disney hat
- Kurt Geiger Orange Leather Hobo Bag
- Baublebar Disney Charm Necklace
I finally styled my Goofy Signature top from Small Shop After All. I received SO many compliments on this shirt. I’m going to go ahead and say you need it!
I styled it with a black maxi skirt I picked up on our trip to Shanghai last summer and my white Vans.
Simple outfit but I dressed it up with fun accessories.
My new Disney friends baseball cap that I have worn 20+ times already – not joking. It’s my new favorite hat.
And THEN, I packed up my new orange leather Kurt Geiger hobo bag. It’s so beautiful!! I love her!
To top it all off, I layered on lots of jewelry. I stacked my Bauble Bar charm necklaces and layered on the bracelets.

Planning Outfits for Disneyland
As always, have fun with your outfits. I’ve said it a million times – planning Disney outfits is one of my top favorite activities. I can spend hours and hours doing it. Hahaha.
Get creative and don’t be afraid to add on layers and lots of color. The summertime might be better for lighter outfits, but still – throw in some fun accessories to jazz it up.
I can’t wait to see what you wear!!!
See you at the Parks!
XOXO,
Julia
