Summer is officially here but also Halloween time. It’s complicated.
Disney loves to rush through the holidays, so even though it’s mid-summer – the holidays are calling. Or should I say screaming???
Because we have Halloween merch already.
While the sun is still doidng it’s thing and making each day insane to be in – the parks are still packed.
As much as I would love to say the weather keeps me from wearing my crazy amount of accessories – it doesn’t.
Let’s dive in and check out what this month in Disney outfits looks like.

What to Wear to Disneyland in August
August at Disneyland is hot. The sun feels strong all day, and the crowds don’t make it any cooler. Comfortable, breathable clothes are the way to go. Loose tees, breezy dresses, shorts – anything that keeps you cool while walking from ride to ride.
And don’t forget, accessories can change everything. A big Disney character tote, layered jewelry, or even a few plushie keychains on your bag can make a simple outfit feel special. It’s the easiest way to stand out in the parks and add a little personality to your look.
Sneakers are always a good idea, but if you’re bringing sandals, make sure they’re comfortable for long days.
And at night, pack a light layer – after a hot day, the evening breeze feels cooler than you’d expect.
What to Pack for Disneyland in August
Packing for August means prepping for the heat. Sunglasses, sunscreen, an umbrella, and a refillable water bottle are non-negotiable. I also recommend a small portable fan and on especially hot days – those cooling towels are life-savers.
Don’t forget extra snacks or electrolyte powders to add to your water. The sun takes it out of you, and having something on hand makes a difference. A hat or visor is another great way to stay shaded (and save yourself from a sunburn).
If you’re planning to shop, leave a little space in your bag. August usually means Halloween merch starts sneaking in, and it’s impossible to resist grabbing something early.
And as always, don’t forget your portable charger.
Tips for Going to Disneyland in August
Crowds are still heavy in August since summer vacation isn’t over yet. Mornings are your best bet for shorter waits and cooler weather, so rope drop is worth it.
By mid-afternoon, it’s hot and busy – great time to grab a shaded spot, shop, or enjoy a long lunch.
Mobile ordering is your best friend. No one wants to stand in line for food in the heat. Plan ahead, pick your return window, and just stroll up when it’s ready.
Hydration is key. Water refill stations are spread across both parks, so keep your bottle topped off. Also, don’t forget breaks. Even 15 minutes inside the Animation Academy or a quiet spot on Main Street can reset your energy.
And finally, pace yourself. August at Disneyland is all about enjoying the summer atmosphere while knowing when to slow down.
What I Wore to Disneyland in August
Colorful Summer Outfit Disneyland
- Anthropology long dress
- Mickey and Friends hat
- Orange leather Kurt Geiger Bag
- Blue Nikes
I went back and forth on this outfit so much. I absolutely LOVE the dress but it’s definitely too big.
I think it kind of made me iffy about this fit but I still had fun wearing it.
The dress is from Anthropology a couple of months ago and I paired it with my new Disney hat that has since been sold out. This collection flew off the shelves!
I picked up a new bag from Nordstrom Rack from Kurt Geiger and I’ve been so obsessed with it. Especially, adding on new purse pals and finding other outfits to wear it with.
Orange is such a happy color and as my one and only orange purse, it will definitely be getting a lot of use.
And of course, I had to wear my super fun blue Nike sneakers.
@julia.vaness Bestie and I had the best day at Disneyland celebrating her birthday. It was hot!! But loved the day! @BaubleBar @Disney Parks @Disney Style @Anthropologie #disneystyle #disneyoutfits #disneyoutfitssummer #disneylandoutfit #summerdisneylandoutfit ♬ original sound – Julia Vaness
Relaxed Outfit Disneyland
- Happy Halloween Shirt – Turquoise
- Black shorts
- Pink Steve Madden Sneakers
- Disney Cruise Bag
We had a very relaxed morning in Downtown Disney on this day. We went pretty cray cray the night before – so our morning was very slow. Hahaha
It was Besties birthday and we were still celebrating – so that meant brunch!!
Bestie chose brunch at Paseo and it was so freaking good. I had dinner here previously and it was fine but brunch was a 10/10.
But back to the outfit!
I wore my black jean shorts that I’ve had for years with my Disneyland Halloween shirt from a few years ago.
I love the color of this shirt so much, I actually wear it year-round because it’s so happy.
I paired it with my pink Steve Madden sneakers that are super comfortable (I packed them for my London trip and Shanghai trip).
And my large tote bag is from our last Disney Cruise.
@julia.vaness Tired girls do a Disneyland OOTD. I’m so proud of us for remembering to do the video hahaha #disneyootd #disneyoutfit #disneystyle #disneyday #downtowndisney ♬ original sound – Julia Vaness
Halloween Outfit Womens
- Orange checkered Anthropology Dress
- Haunted Mansion Shirt
- Mirabel Earrings
- Mickey Vampire Tote Bag
- Bag Plushies from SmallShop After All
- Converse
My first Halloween outfit of the season!! If Disney says it’s Halloween – then it’s Halloween.
I don’t make the rules.
Because I’m obsessed with my new orange checkered dress from Anthropology, I had to wear it for a fun Halloween look.
Cousin and I matched with our Haunted Mansion shirts and Mickey Vampire bags.
We LOVE matching. We own so much of the same Disney merch – it’s kind of scary.
To add in more pizazz and color, I wore my Mirabel earrings I ordered from Etsy and my matching neon platform Converse.
We also had fun adding purse pals to our bag. We both have some of the same ones (of course we do).
The pumpkin Mickey purse pals are from Small Shop After All.
@julia.vaness My first official Disneyland Halloween outfit of the season!!! Halloween is my absolute favorite time of year to plan outfits for Disney!! I had so much fun with this fit ✨🎃 @Disney Style @Disney Parks @Visit Anaheim @Converse @Anthropologie #disneyhalloweenoutfit #disneylandoutfit #halloweenoutfitdisney #disneyoutfitideas #outfitideas ♬ original sound – Julia Vaness
