If you’re visiting San Diego for the weekend or you’re looking for something new to do in the area, look no further than the San Diego Zoo!
The Zoo is absolutely beautiful, with stunning views, fun animal encounters, and a guided bus tour!
They offer some fun foods around the property but the most popular dining location is Albert’s Restaurant.
This post is all about brunch at Albert’s Restaurant at the San Diego Zoo.
Albert’s Restaurant is located in the heart of the Zoo in the Lost Forest Zone. It’s a bit of a hike to get there but you can follow the trail on the map or ask a Zoo member to help you find your way. We walked through the aviary and a few other exhibits on our way to the restaurant and you can also take another trail on the way back to see more exhibits.
Menu
Albert’s offers breakfast, lunch, and a weekend brunch. The best part is, they offer bottomless mimosas for $15/person during their weekend brunch. We added this to our dining experience because mimosa brunch is always a good idea.
The restaurant offers a few options for their weekend brunch, including chilaquiles, a breakfast burger, and a traditional breakfast plate.
The staff was very nice at Albert’s and refreshed drinks often, as well as checking in to make sure our meal was okay. They offer vegetarian-friendly options, but if you have a restrictive diet it would be helpful to call ahead to make sure they can accommodate.
Cheesy Garlic Bread: 10/10
Baja Fresh Chilaquiles: 8/10
French Dip Sandwich: 8/10
Roasted Vegetable Garden: 9/10
Final Thoughts
Our group had a great time dining at Albert’s Restaurant. We recommend making dining reservations ahead of time as they tend to fill up fast.
The restaurant is a bit older but it still feels welcoming and clean.
They have vegetarian options, good prices for food and drinks and are a full-service restaurant. Most of the dining locations at the Zoo are quick-service, so if you’re looking for something that offers more than your average burger and fries, this location is for you.
Have you had a chance to visit Albert’s Restaurant? What other dining locations would you like me to review? Let me know in the comments below.
