Every year I say the same thing: the Coachella arts and crafts tent is my absolute favorite part of the entire weekend.
You’d think it would be the festival itself – and don’t get me wrong, the festival is incredible – but the crafting tent? That’s my happy place.
As an ADHD, autistic girly who loves to fidget, create, and keep my hands busy, crafting is seriously my jam. It’s where I THRIVE!
And getting to do it in the desert, with a cute drink in hand, a live DJ playing, and the sun peeking through the tent? It’s perfection. Truly. Every angle. Every moment.
I rope drop the Coachella arts and crafts tent. No shame.
I love crafting!!!
Whether you’re a long-time camper or planning your first Coachella weekend, the arts and crafts tent inside the Camping Hub is such a fun, underrated part of the experience.
It’s relaxing, it’s social, and you walk away with something cute you made yourself. What more could we want?
Let’s get into what the tent is, what to expect, and what you should bring with you.

What Is the Coachella Arts & Crafts Tent?

The arts and crafts tent is located inside the Coachella Camping Hub, which is basically the activity center for all campers. It’s hosted by Coachella Art Studios.
At Camp, you’ll find yoga, sound baths, games, brand activations – and tucked right inside all of that is a full crafting area with tables, supplies, and instructors who help guide various DIY projects each day.
It’s free. It’s fun.
And it’s genuinely one of the best things to do while camping at Coachella.
The tent is usually open throughout the morning and early afternoon, and projects change each day (sometimes even mid-day). There’s always music playing, people chatting, and a whole creative energy in the air.

Types of Crafts in the Coachella Camp Crafting Tent

Every year the offerings change a little, but these are some of the crafts we’ve seen in past years. They rotate projects, so you’ll see new stuff pop up too.
Bracelet Making
Friendship bracelets, beaded bracelets, name bracelets – whatever you want. It’s cute, fun, and a great way to pass the time.
DIY Clothing
They often have upcycling stations with scissors, markers, patches, and paint so you can create a custom top or remake something you already own.

Bag Decorating
Tote bags, fanny packs, mini backpacks – decorate them however you want. Paint, markers, iron-ons. It’s like summer camp, but Coachella edition.
Clay Crafts
Small clay trinkets, little sculptures, or jewelry pieces. Very soothing. Highly recommend.

Perfume Making
This one is a hit. You get to make your own fragrance blend to wear for the weekend. It’s surprisingly relaxing.
Rope Crafts
They had keychains, woven bracelets, macramé-type items. These turn out so cute.

Coloring
Yes, adult coloring pages. Yes, it’s amazing. Sometimes you just need to sit, shade in a flower, and take a breather.

What to Bring to Craft & Upcycle at Coachella

You don’t have to bring anything – the tent provides supplies – but if you want to upcycle or personalize things, here are some easy items to toss in your bag:
- Old T-shirts
- Cowboy hats
- Bucket hats
- Tote bags
- Bandanas
- Denim shorts
- Old jeans you can cut and re-style
- Stickers, patches, or iron-ons from home
Basically, anything you want to refresh for the weekend. The crafting tent is the perfect place to do it.

Why You Shouldn’t Skip the Arts & Crafts Tent

The crafting tent is a break from the chaos. It’s a chance to sit, cool down, and reset.
It’s something creative and fun with zero pressure. And it’s a great way to bond with your camping group or meet new people.
Plus, there’s something really wholesome about sitting under a tent with strangers, all working crafting away while music blasts in the background. It’s one of my favorite parts of the Coachella camping experience.
Crafting at Coachella

If you’re camping at Coachella, make time for the arts and crafts tent. Even if you’re not the craftiest person, it’s such a fun, relaxing way to spend part of your morning.
Bring a drink, grab a chair, and just create something fun with zero pressure.
And if you see someone there who looks way too excited and is already wrist-deep in beads and glitter at 10 AM… that’s probably me.
