SeaWorld San Diego just opened a refreshed little gem – the Bayside Aquarium – and it’s such a cute, unexpected spot.
It’s tucked right under the Bayside Amphitheater, and the whole space feels calm and cozy in the best way.
If you love small aquariums where you can take your time, wander around, and actually see the animals up close (without feeling rushed), this is definitely a spot to check out on your next visit.
A Smaller Space That Feels Super Personal
This isn’t one of those giant walk-through aquariums where you rush past massive tanks. The Bayside Aquarium is intentionally smaller. You can get right up to the exhibits and take in all the details.
The Animals You’ll See
They’ve brought in a mix of rare, unique, and just straight-up fascinating species. A few standouts:
- Axolotls
- Bamboo sharks
- Wobbegong sharks
- Reef fish
- California two-spot octopus
Everything is displayed in tanks that pull you right in – including a stunning glass hexagon display in the center of the room.
Why It’s Worth Adding to Your SeaWorld Day
If you’re visiting SeaWorld San Diego this season, definitely take a few minutes to stop by. It’s a calm break from the rides and the crowds, and it feels like a hidden aquatic nook that most people overlook.
It’s small, it’s pretty, and the animals are incredible to see up close. A perfect little escape in the middle of the park.
