It’s officially the holiday season, so it’s time for Christmas in the parks. Disneyland is absolutely stunning during the Christmas season, with holiday lights, and decorated trees everywhere, and all of the guests are wearing their holiday best!
Of course, one of the biggest questions googled while planning for your annual Christmas-time Disneyland trip is, what to wear to Disneyland in December? And I’m here to help.
This post is all about Disneyland Christmas outfit ideas.
What’s the weather at Disneyland in December?
Disneyland is in southern California so you don’t have to expect any snow or freezing temperatures but it does get pretty cold at night. During the day you can expect the weather to be in the mid-’60s to low 70s with sunshine. It’s the perfect weather for light layers. The nighttime, however, can get a bit colder, so pack a warmer jacket for the evening and some warm pants.
As always, be sure to look up the forecast for the days you are planning to visit. There is always a chance for rain and that can cause cancellations for parades, fireworks and character meet and greets. It can also lead to some ride closures.

Christmas Outfit Ideas for Disneyland
Matching your outfits with your friends and/or family is always fun, especially during the holiday season. We picked up these Christmas tree sweaters at Target, they always have a great holiday sweater selection. It’s easy to mix with other pieces in your closet. You can stick with adding more Christmas pieces or add in items that are the holiday colors, like how we paired it with white tops and red pants.
Get creative with your outfits. These photos are from the Phyllis Navidad party at Disneyland a few years ago. I attached tons of Christmas plushies to a dress, and the top even lights up! Have fun with your outfits, wear those ugly Christmas sweaters, and layer on the tacky Christmas attire. Disneyland is a place to have fun!
Spirit Jerseys are perfect to wear the entire year. They offer new colors and styles every season and they are great for comfy Disney days and layering at night. Pair your favorite holiday Spirit Jersey with shorts, leggings, or jeans; add a cute Loungefly bag and Minnie ears and you have yourself the perfect Christmas outfit for Disneyland.
Thrift some cute vintage Disney sweaters for your next trip. I found this cute red Mickey Mouse sweater and I wear it every year. I also went digging at the Rose Bowl flea market and found this cute Mickey and Minnie Christmas sweatshirt that I wear pretty much all year round. Wearing cute Disney outfits doesn’t need to be expensive. It’s fun wearing vintage items and they are so unique, you’ll feel even more special when you wear them. Make a stop at your local thrift store for some cute holiday items.
Add themed ears for any occasion to liven up your outfit. Christmas Mickey and Minnie ears are a great and easy way to add a bit of fun to your look. I kept this outfit simple with the red pants and Mickey top but the Christmas Mickey ears take it up a notch and add that holiday flare.
Another way to get creative with looks is by mixing and matching themes and colors. We paired our embroidered Disney coats with colorful Minnie ears, crossbody bags with metal detailing, colorful earrings and cute Ewoks. Mixing in different pops of colors and textures can really add dimension to an outfit.
Keep it simple with a classic Christmas sweater. You don’t need to overthink your outfit planning. Pair a Christmas sweater, Disney or not, with simple holiday accessories and comfortable pants.
The Magic of Accessories
The easiest way to add a bit of Christmas magic to your Disneyland outfit is by adding accessories. Accessories can really level up any outfit from a dress to shorts and a sweatshirt. Accessories like Minnie Mouse ears, earrings or a fun holiday bag can add a lot of color and texture to the overall look.
Here are a few great accessories I found for the 2022 Holiday season!
These cute holiday ears have been so popular this season. Disney came out with a ton of styles for guests to choose from and they’re easy to pair with tons of different outfits.
Christmas bags are the cutest! I’m not sure how they keep getting cuter each year but these designers are hard at work and it pays off. The Christmas Ewoks have been a huge hit this year, so you can’t skip this cute crossbody bag. The Dooney & Bourke is a classic and if you’re a collector, then this bag is for you. The Loungefly backpacks are always a must and I’m surprised I haven’t seen more Christmas Loungefly bags for sale at the parks, I’m sure more are to come
Disney Christmas sweaters are tough to pass up and it’s even more difficult to choose between them. My cousin and her daughter picked up matching Ewok sweaters and I have my eye on the Pixar Christmas Spirit Jersey. There really are so many cute Christmas sweaters this year, I only added a few but you can find a huge selection online and at the parks.
Damn Starbucks and their cute tumblers! I walked straight to Starbucks today to grab this holiday-style insulated water bottle and then ended up with a completely new tumbler. How does this happen?!! I’m so obsessed with Disney Starbucks cups, they are fun to collect and use at the parks.
We all know and love Baublebar earrings and every season they come out with the cutest Disney designs. This year is no different. You can find a ton of Christmas earrings for Disneyland on their site. But hurry because they go fast!
