It’s officially Christmas time at Disneyland.
And yes – I know Disney starts celebrating the holidays early… like very early. But now that it’s actually December, it finally feels like we can fully lean into the festive chaos and not feel so ridiculous about it.
I will be honest though, when the parks roll straight from Halloween into Christmas overnight, I get a little tired hahaha.
There are only so many themed outfits a girl can put together without going into debt. I’ve really been trying to be better about not buying pieces just for one specific moment or theme.
I’m working on being responsible and sensible… which is extremely difficult when you’re a “more is more” type of girly. And especially when you’re a Disney Adult.
This lifestyle gets expensive – but it could be worse. At least that’s what I tell my husband. Lol.
Anyway – getting back on track – this post is all about what to wear to Disneyland in December.
I’ve done quite a few December park days over the years, and this season I squeezed in two trips. The weather was definitely all over the place – warm afternoons, chilly nights – always keeping us on our toes.
So let’s get into the outfits, the layers, and exactly what to wear if you’re heading to Disneyland during the holiday season.

What to Wear to Disney in December
December at Disneyland is one of my favorite times of year – it’s bright, festive, and still pretty sunny during the day. But don’t let the sunshine fool you… there’s definitely a chill in the air.
You’ll want to bring a jacket, especially if you’re staying into the evening. Once the sun goes down and the holiday lights come on, the temperature dips. Cozy layers are key this time of year.
Most days are clear skies, but toward the end of the month you may get some cloudier weather or light rain, so always check the forecast before your park day.
Comfortable shoes are still a non-negotiable, especially if you’re planning to stay late for the holiday entertainment, nighttime shows, or a festive drink over at California Adventure.
For me, evenings usually call for something extra cozy. Leggings are always my go-to; warm, comfortable, and easy to pair with oversized sweatshirts or holiday sweaters.
What to Pack for Disneyland in December
December is a weird in-between month – it’s warm and cold. California is odd that way. Some days are super cold and rainy and other days are in the 80’s. So packing needs to be a bit more calculated.
As always, check the weather before arriving and I’m going to suggest to pack layers even if it’s looking warm. The evenings can get cold.
Your park bag should still have the usual essentials too – water, SPF (yes, even in December), lip balm, portable charger, and maybe some hand lotion because the colder air can dry your skin out a bit. Snacks are always a good idea, especially during the busy holiday season when food lines get long. And don’t forget your reusable water bottle.
Tips for Going to Disneyland in December
December at Disneyland is magical, but it’s also one of the busiest times of the year, so having a bit of a plan goes a long way.
Make time for the holiday entertainment. The parade is a must, and you definitely don’t want to miss the snowfall on Main Street – it happens a few times each night, so ask a Cast Member for exact times when you get there. There are also tons of seasonal activations happening throughout the parks, from festive character meet-and-greets to holiday overlays on rides. You can even meet Santa, which is always such a cute moment.
Over at California Adventure, Festival of Holidays is in full swing – aka the food festival – and there’s so much to try. If seasonal snacks are high on your priority list (same), I recommend looking at the menus ahead of time and making a loose plan.
Crowds are heavy this time of year, so expect longer ride lines and busy mobile order windows. Place your food orders as early as possible to lock in a pickup time that works with your schedule.
A little planning helps you soak up more of the holiday magic without feeling rushed, and that’s really what December Disney days are all about.
What I Wore to Disneyland in December
California Cozy Disneyland Outfit

We had a bestie brunch day in Downtown Disney, so obviously I had to dress the part. It was one of those beautiful sunny December days, and actually it was a little warm, but I still committed to a coat moment. Underneath though? A dress. Because… California. Hahaha.
I wore my black denim dress from ASOS that I originally bought for our Disney Cruise last year. It was perfect then and it’s still perfect now. It’s one of those pieces that’s ridiculously comfortable but still feels styled and it works with basically any jacket or shoe combo.
My coat is from Disneyland from a couple years ago. My cousin and I bought matching ones because that’s kind of our thing. We love a coordinated moment.

For my bag, I added my green Toy Story Alien crossbody that I ordered from AliExpress. This bag fits so much, which we love for a park day, and it adds the cutest pop of character without being too over the top.
To balance everything out, I wore my favorite Steve Madden sneakers. They’re insanely comfortable, like actual cushioning, not just cute-for-photos comfortable. A must for long Disney days.
I finished the look with a Disneyland hat, layered necklaces that I made myself, and – of course – a stack of bracelets and rings. Because more is more, always.

Disney-Inspired Outfit for Work

Okay, so technically this one wasn’t worn at Disneyland… but it is Disney-inspired, so we’re including her. Hahaha.
I actually wore this outfit to the office on a colder day, so it was all about being cozy but still on theme. I bundled up in my oversized black knit sweater, which I love because it has an open back detail that makes it feel a little more styled than just a basic sweater moment.
Underneath, I layered a silver sequin top for a little sparkle. You know I can’t resist adding something extra.
For the Disney touch, I wore my Mickey Mouse hat that I picked up from the Disney Store, and I added my primary yellow star earrings – they just felt very Mickey-coded and fun with the whole look.
I paired everything with simple Levi’s straight-leg jeans and my favorite platform black Converse high tops – comfortable, easy, and still cute enough for a full day.
For accessories, I wore my Spider-Man necklace that I made for the Avengers Campus opening, plus a stack of beaded bracelets (obviously).
I loved this outfit so much, it was cozy, playful, and still felt like me… even on a regular workday.

Last Outfit of the Year

For my last Disneyland trip of the year, I went full comfy-cozy mode. It was actually pretty cold that morning, at least by Southern California standards.
I started my day early, which ended up being a very good decision because the park was packed.
But the real highlight of the day? I ran into Mindy Kaling and her family multiple times while walking around the park. I freaking love Mindy Kaling, so that was truly the cherry on top of the whole day.
But back to the outfit. 😂

As always, I started with my favorite black shorts. They’re basically a Disneyland staple for me at this point. I paired them with a shirt I had just picked up a couple weeks earlier at World of Disney.
It’s a Nutcracker-inspired shirt with Donald Duck on it and it says “NutQuacker.”
That kind of pun is exactly my sense of humor. Instant favorite. 10/10.
To keep warm and add a little personality, I threw on my leopard print jacket that I’ve had for literal years. I honestly can’t even remember when I bought it, probably around 2018. I’m someone who will wear things until they absolutely cannot be worn anymore, and this jacket is still going strong.
For a little extra Disney flair, I added my Monsters, Inc. hat and carried my giant Disney Cruise Line tote bag. Technically, it’s a beach tote, but I use it as a purse because I love a big bag moment.
Overall, it was a super simple, comfortable outfit, perfect for a chilly morning. And once the sun came out, I just tossed my jacket into my giant bag and kept going. Easy park day outfit.
Going to Disneyland in December
December at Disneyland is one of my favorite times to visit. The holiday decorations, the lights, the festive snacks, the music, it’s all so magical. It can definitely get crowded, but if you plan your day a bit and go in with the right outfit (and comfortable shoes), it’s such a fun time to be in the parks.
For outfits, December is all about balance. The days can still feel warm in the sun, but mornings and evenings get chilly fast, so layers are your best friend. I always try to build outfits that are comfortable enough for walking all day but still fun and a little extra, because it’s Disney after all.
Whether you’re going for cozy holiday vibes, something festive, or just a cute park outfit that makes you happy, wear what feels like you. That’s always the best Disney style.
