The Disney Cruise Line is setting sail from Singapore for the first time, with its inaugural voyage departing on December 15, 2025.
This marks an exciting new chapter for Disney fans and cruise enthusiasts looking to experience Disney magic in Southeast Asia.
Whether you’re a seasoned Disney cruiser or planning your first trip, this guide will help you prepare for your adventure.
About Singapore
Situated at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, Singapore is a vibrant and modern city-state blending urban sophistication with lush greenery.
Known for its world-class shopping, dining, and cultural attractions, it’s the perfect pre- or post-cruise destination.
Visitors can explore Chinatown, Kampong Gelam, and Gardens by the Bay for a taste of local culture, history, and nature.
Singapore is about 31-miles wide (East to West) and 17-miles long (North to South), so a quick 1 or 2-day trip is perfect to see the sights!
On our first trip to Singapore we only spent 17-hours there and we had a full day. You can do so much in Singapore with a day before and after your cruise.
Travel Information
English is widely spoken throughout Singapore. It’s the primary language spoken at hotels, restaurants and local attractions. At some of the less touristy places you may not be able to communicate in English.
At the less touristy locations, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil are usually spoken.
The weather in Singapore is very hot and humid with daily showers; kind of like Florida but hotter.
I would pack an umbrella for the frequent rainfall but keep your attire light and airy. It’s very tropical weather.
The City/State does a great job of providing a ton of greenery throughout public spaces to help cool the area down and the AC is very powerful at the malls, restaurants and hotels.
The currency in Singapore is is the Singapore dollar (SGD). Credit cards are widely accepted but if you venture into more local areas, you may need cash.
Getting around Singapore is fairly easy. The MRT system (subway) is easy to navigate and goes to the most traveled places in the area. The bus system is also easy to use but takes a bit longer with stops.
When we travel to Singapore we prefer to use Grab. It’s like Uber or Lyft. You can download the app and call a driver, just like you do in the States.
I traveled around Singapore, mostly solo, for a week and I preferred calling a Grab for getting around town. I only took the MRT a few times with my husband but it was easy and very clean.
There are a lot of different laws and customs in Singapore from the US. I put together a post full of tips for your first visit. You can find it here.
Is Singapore safe? Yes, Singapore is very safe. I traveled mostly solo for a week in Singapore and felt very safe.
As with any trip, you should always keep your belongings safe and be aware of your surroundings. Be sure to have a way of contacting your friends and family in an emergency too, if needed.

Pre- and Post-Cruise Hotels
What hotel to stay at for the Disney Singapore Cruise
There are a number of fantastic hotels in Singapore near the Marina Bay Cruise Centre. Disney has three partner hotels, but you may stay at any hotel within your budget.
The three hotels suggested by the Disney Cruise Line are Marina Bay Sands, Raffles Singapore, and Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa.
On our last two trips, we stayed at the Fullerton Hotel and the Pan Pacific Hotel. I highly recommend them both. They were both in a great location with excellent service.
Marina Bay Sands is the iconic hotel from the movie Crazy Rich Asians. It’s also one of the most iconic buildings in Singapore.
This hotel features a full casino, a shopping mall, and one of the most unique Apple stores ever.
It’s located within two miles of the port and a great option to stay at before or after the cruise.
Please keep in mind, that all three of these hotels recommended by Disney are pricier options but include fantastic amenities and views of Singapore.
