We’re fresh off our first-ever Disney cruise, and we’re already counting down the days until our second voyage.
Before any more time passes, I need to share with you our amazing room aboard the Disney Fantasy!!
We really had no idea what to expect when we booked this trip. This was our first cruise and our first Disney cruise. I’ve watched a ton of videos of rooms, but without ever being on a ship, I had no idea what any of it all meant.
We knew we wanted a balcony, but really didn’t mind how big, or where it was, or what level. We went with the cheapest option for booking a balcony stateroom and went from there!
We ended up having a beautiful room!! Let me show you!

Disney Fantasy Verandah Stateroom Tour
This room was huge!!! I’ve heard trauma stories of how small cruise ship rooms can be, but this felt like an actual hotel room!
Now, the bathrooms are a different story, but the actual room was a fantastic size, especially for two people.
The room came with a queen-sized bed and three fold-out beds.
There was also a TON of storage. I can understand if you have a family of four and you need a bunch of space – this is perfect.
We didn’t use half of the storage provided. I felt like I could have packed more, even though my luggage would disagree with you. (I really pushed that weight limit 😂).
The main storage area included a mini-fridge, but it wasn’t as cold as a regular refrigerator. It just kind of kept things chilled, but we didn’t mind because we only had a couple of things in there anyway.
I used the desk area to get ready each day. I had my makeup, hair tools, and accessories everywhere.
My husband is used to this, so he just keeps his items in another area because I take up a TON of space.
Don’t pack your own hair dryer or a Dyson AirWrap because they won’t work.
I knew before boarding that we couldn’t use our own hair dryers, but for some reason, I didn’t think of my AirWrap as a hair dryer, which it totally is.
I ended up not using it once. So, skip it if you have it or anything like it.
I was able to use my hair straightener, so that was the look for my time on the ship.
Disney also provides their own hairdryer and a heat mat for you to place your hot tools on so you don’t ruin the furniture or start any fires – very helpful.
Showers and Restrooms in your Disney Stateroom
The shower and restrooms were separated into two different rooms in your stateroom. This is convenient if you have a few people in your room, and two people can use them at once.
One side had a toilet, sink, and lots of shelves for storage. The other side had a shower/tub combo with a sink and a bit of storage.
The walls in the shower room and the restroom are tile, so you can’t add your magnetic hooks in here for extra storage.
To get around this, I ordered suction cup hooks to hang our toiletry bags for some extra space.
My husband is very tall, so as soon as he saw the shower, he wasn’t a fan. We both ended up using the showers at the Senses Spa each morning, and they were perfect!
The showers (at least in the ladies’ locker room) were spacious and had very hot water. They also had counter space with hair dryers, lotions, and hand and face wash.
It was a great spot to get ready, and lots of women were in there. I wouldn’t say it got crowded, but for the most part, every shower was always being used.
If you go in “off hours” – not the morning or evening, then you will have a nice empty locker room to yourself.
We didn’t do our hair or anything in the spa locker room, but we would shower and pack a change of clothes and then go back to our room to get ready for the day.
If you have a few people staying in your room, though, it might be easier to get ready in the locker room.
Organizing our Disney Stateroom
I may take planning for trips a little too seriously. I scoured the internet – Google, Youtube, TikTok – for all the top cruising tips and organizational items I would need.
I spent days doing this. It took over my life. And I loved it.
My planning obsession leads me to buy anything and everything recommended to me.
Don’t judge me.
And lucky for you! These are the items I actually used and liked and would recommend for your next trip.
- Magnetic Hooks: Everyone suggests these because they’re perfect! They help so much with keeping items off the floor and chairs.
- Pop-up Hamper: Have a place to store your dirty clothes and keep it off the ground and away from your clean items. It makes repacking a lot easier and if you’re doing laundry on the ship, you have a way to transport it to and from the laundry room.
- Cruise Approved Power Adapter/USB Hub: There aren’t many outlets in your room. To avoid the hassle of phones and chargers dying, invest in an adapter with multiple connections for phones, chargers, and watches.
Tips:
- Pack an old gift card to use to keep the lights on so you don’t forget your key in the room. You have to keep a key in the slot at all times if you want to lights on.
- Pack a giant water bottle to fill at the drink stations and keep in your room. Bottled water and sodas through room service aren’t free.
Decorating our Disney Cruise Door
I was so excited to decorate our door for the cruise! I’ve seen so many door decoration videos and I couldn’t wait to plan our door.
It was a Christmas cruise and my birthday, but I really wanted our door to be Christmas-themed.
I focused on making our door look like a fireplace. I purchased a fun wreath from Walmart and ordered a magnetic hook and display holder from Amazon.
We also purchased some cute stockings to finish the look.
To make it more Disney-themed, I pinned cute Jack and Sally plushies to each stocking. And we purchased a personalized magnet on Etsy from the shop 23MagicalThings.
Cruising on the Disney Fantasy
This was our first ever cruise and Disney cruise and it was truly the best experience. There are so many moments from this trip that we will never forget.
Our stateroom on board was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. As a couple, we had so much space and loved spending time in the room, ordering room service, and watching Disney movies.
I know you’re going to have a fabulous time on your cruise. Let me know if you have any questions about the room or the cruise. I would love to help however I can.
See you on the seas!
XOXO,
Julia
