June was a fun month at the Parks. It brought the heat but also the sunshine. I had two trips this month, one with the besties and one solo trip.
If you’re ever considering going to Disneyland solo – do it!
But back to the planning for a Disneyland trip in June. I always start with outfits.
Planning outfits for Disneyland has to be one of my favorite activities. It sparks so much joy!!
Mostly because you can wear all the happy and fun stuff you want! It’s Disneyland!!
I’m all for matching outfits, themed outfits – Disney bounding – all of it.
So let’s dive into what I wore to Disneyland this month and tips for your next Disney trip.

What to Wear to Disneyland in June
June at Disneyland can be warm, but not unbearable. Most days start in the mid-60s and warm up to the high 70s or low 80s – so you’ll want outfits that feel light but still offer some flexibility.
My trips are usually around 4-6 hours and always during the day because I hate driving at night. BUT I do plan a lot of staycations throughout the year and stay until closing before checking into a local hotel.
So I do know how the weather can get at night in Anaheim.
For June, I would plan outfits that work well with layers. For the most part, shorts are going to work all day and night.
It’s usually the top part you have to plan for. If I’m planning on being at the parks until closing, I always pack a sweater or jacket.
Unless the weather says 80 degrees + for evenings, they can get pretty chilly. At least my SoCal standards.
I would plan on a dress or shorts, a short-sleeved top and then a light jacket for evenings.
Tips for Going to Disneyland in June
June means longer park hours and the unofficial start of summer crowds, especially once schools are out. If you’re visiting early in the month, weekdays can still feel manageable.
But as you get closer to mid- or late June, it gets noticeably busier. Genie+ is 100% worth considering if you’re planning to hit a lot of rides.
But please do some research on how to best use it. Watch some videos online or check which rides are worth rushing to or scheduling ahead.
Disneyland, unfortunately, has become all about planning.
Start your day early to take advantage of lower wait times and cooler weather. And don’t forget to hydrate – more than you think you need to.
I like to mobile order meals and snacks ahead of time, especially for lunch when things start to get crowded. And make sure to check for Grad Nite dates – they can affect park flow and park hours.
What to Pack for Disneyland in June
My June park bag always has the basics: portable charger, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle, and compact umbrella.
And if I’m staying at night, a light jacket or sweatshirt I can keep in my bag when I’m not using it.
I also have some other regulars like Chapstick, hand sanitizer, and a small snack.
If you’re planning to take a ton of photos, pack some blotting papers or a mini setting spray to freshen up midday. And if you’re wearing new sandals or sneakers, throw in a few band-aids – just in case.
Oh – and don’t forget the TUMS or whatever your preferred tummy medicine is. I always carry TUMS, Pepto, and Immodium. You can never be too careful hahaha
The sun stays out longer in June, so I also like to keep a bucket hat or baseball cap clipped to my bag and be sure to reapply sunscreen throughout the day.
What I Wore to Disneyland in June
All Black Disneyland Outfit
My first outfit of the month was kind of moody – mostly because I was in a mood.
Luckily, I received my new rhinestone stompers in the mail at the perfect time to align with our Disney trip.
I slipped on my new favorite wardrobe item and then descended into chaos to find a relevant outfit for the day, my mood, and to be “Disney appropriate”.
I settled on black shorts and my band tee.
I got my shirt from a show in San Diego – the group is Tropa Magica and they’re the best.
Give them a listen. 👏
To keep up with the all-black outfit, I grabbed an almost vintage Coach tote bag that my madre gave to me.
I had to jazz it up a bit – because of course I did.
So I added a TON of purse pals to it to add that bit of magic that I love so much.
I layered on the beaded bracelets and called it a fit. ✨
@julia.vaness I survived 5 hours in these stompers…so I’m calling this outfit realistic 😁 #disneyland #disneyoutfit #disneystyle #macimalistdisneystyle #macimalistdisneyoutfit #unrealisticdisneyoutfit #whattoweartodisneylandjune #junedisneyoutfit ♬ original sound – Julia Vaness
Ribbon Braids and Colorful Disney Outfit
I was absolutely obsessed with my outfit on this day. It made me so happy.
There was so much color!! My brain was overjoyed. ✨
For my hair, I purchased some ribbon at Michaels and added it to my braids. I wanted a lot of color, for Spring and to add some happiness to my day.
My dress is from ASOS. I’ve had it for a few years and I’ve loved how many different ways I’ve styled it.
My blue suede Nikes are also from ASOS. I was so nervous to buy them because I thought the blue color was too “loud” but they’ve been my favorite shoes!!! I wear them so much!
To layer on even more color, I wore my green quilted bag from Shein. I added a ton of little charms to it last year when I took it to Disney World. It’s been one of my favorite bags since then.
@julia.vaness Disney dopamine dressing! It’s a thing! I love dressing in colorful outfits, especially on Disney days 💖✨ Dress is from @asos Shoes are @Nike Bows are from @Michaels Stores I made most of the jewelry 💖 #disneystyle #disneyoutfit #disneylandoutfit #maximaliststyle #maximalistoutfit #maximalistdisneystyle #disneylandstylemaximalist #disneylandoutfitinspo #dopaminedressing #disneydopaminedressing #disneylandmaximalistoutfit #bows #hairbowsbraids #braidedhairwithbows #colorfuldisneyoutfits #colorfuldisneylandoutfit ♬ original sound – Julia Vaness
