We had two trips this month!!! One at Disneyland and one at Disneyland Paris!
It was a whirlwind of a month, but I will not complain – it was amazing!
Luckily, the weather wasn’t too dramatic, and we were able to wear what we wanted in Paris.
This month was so much fun because it really felt like spooky season had finally started.
We are officially in the thick of Halloween season!
Let’s get into the Disney outfits from September.

What to Wear to Disneyland in September
September can be a tricky month at Disneyland. It’s still hot during the day, but evenings start to cool down more than July or August.
Light, breathable clothes are still your best bet for daytime – tees, tanks, shorts, ordresses work great. But you’ll want to bring a light jacket or sweater for nighttime.
It’s also Halloween season at the parks, so feel free to add a little spooky flair to your outfits. A Halloween-themed tee, pumpkin Mickey ears, or even a pop of orange and black can make your look festive without overheating in the afternoon. And as always – sneakers win. You’ll be walking all day, and comfort is key.
What to Pack for Disneyland in September
Your packing list doesn’t have to change much from summer, but September does call for a few extras. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a refillable water bottle are still essentials – it’s hot, and hydration matters. But you’ll also want that light layer for when it cools down at night.
I also like to bring a small portable fan for afternoons and maybe even a Halloween accessory or two. You’ll start seeing Halloween merch everywhere, and it’s fun to lean into the season. A reusable tote can come in handy if you plan on grabbing souvenirs or limited-time snacks.
And of course, keep your bag small enough for comfort. Crossbody bags or belt bags are the easiest to manage, especially when you’re hopping on rides all day.
Tips for Going to Disneyland in September
Crowds in September can feel all over the place. With schools back in session, weekdays can be lighter, but weekends pick up again – especially with Halloween Time at Disneyland bringing in extra guests. Be prepared for a mix of quiet mornings and busier evenings.
Oogie Boogie Bash also happens three nights a week at Disney California Adventure. On those days, the park closes early for regular guests, so plan ahead. If you don’t have party tickets, make the most of your day at DCA before the early closure, or hop over to Disneyland Park to keep the night going.
This is also a great month to rope drop if you want shorter wait times before the crowds roll in. Take breaks in the shade during the hottest part of the afternoon, then enjoy the cooler evenings when the parks feel extra festive with all the Halloween decor lit up. September is the start of spooky season, and it’s such a fun time to be at Disneyland.
What I Wore to Disneyland in September
Little Mermaid/Pennywise Outfit
- ASOS Black and White Checkered Dress
- Ariel Pennywise Bag from Magically Horrific
- Red sneakers from Target
- Little Mermaid Charm Necklace from Super Smalls
I received my newest Disney-inspired character tote in the mail, and I had to put together an outfit for it ASAP!
I’m still categorizing this look as a “spooky season’ outfit because it includes some horror aspects.
I ordered the Ariel/Pennywise bag from Magically Horrific months ago on pre-order and completely forgot about it.
Imagine my excitement when it arrived at my house!
I decided to stick with the blood red theme with the bag and shoes, and more of the black and white to offset the color in the bag.
For my jewelry, I went full Little Mermaid theme.
It was definitely a random outfit, but I ended up loving it.

Halloween Outfit Disneyland Paris
- Nightmare Before Christmas GAP Barrel Jeans
- Disneyland Halloween Shirt
- Goofy Crossbody Bag
- Platform Converse
Disneyland Paris doesn’t celebrate Halloween until October – but we made it work with this low-key Halloween outfit.
I went to Disney Paris the last week of September and was so sad that everything wasn’t set up for spooky season.
They did have merch out but it was the same merch we have at our Disneyland park – so it wasn’t that exciting.
The week before we left on our trip, GAP dropped a new Nightmare Before Christmas collection and I was immediately obsessed with the dark purple barrel jeans.
They called to me! Screamed at me!
I had to get them.
We were carry-on only for the trip, so my outfits for the week were very simple, but I jazzed them up with some accessories.
I picked up my Goofy bag from Shein, and my jewelry is a mix from so many places – but mostly Disneyland.
My Halloween shirt is from Disneyland a couple of years ago and I threw on my platform Converse because they’re my absolute favorite.
I ended up loving my outfit and felt like a 90’s kid all over again – I loved it!
@julia.vaness What I wore to Disneyland Paris. We went the last week in September. It was a sunny day but got super cold at night. I wore my new purple barrel jeans from @Gap from their new Nightmare Before Christmas collection. Added some fun Halloween vibes with my shirt from @Disney Parks and my Goofy Bag. I wore my platform @Converse sneakers and then layered on lots of jewelry. #disneylandparis #disneylandparisoutfit #whattoweartodisneylandparis #disneystyle #disneylandoutfit @Disney @Disney Style ♬ original sound – Julia Vaness
