Hidden in the beautiful landscape of Singapore is Sentosa Island, a beautiful resort-style island with a theme park, huge mall, aquarium and endless resorts and beach clubs.
It’s the perfect vacation escape and there’s really endless activities for kids and adults. Sentosa Island is where you’ll find Universal Studios Singapore and Far Far Away Land.
You’ll be greeted by a carriage and the delicious smell of waffles and an epic view of the castle.
Let’s journey through the land together!
Rides in Far Far Away Land
Shrek Land or Far Far Away Land has three rides for guests.
The first ride is the dragon ride, called Enchanted Airways. This ride is a short and small coaster, similar to Flight of the Hippogriff in Hogsmeade.
The second ride in Far Far Away Land is Magic Potion Spin. This kids ride is actually located inside and be easy to miss. You can find it in the Potions shop to the right of the castle.
This ride is made for smaller riders and goes nice and slow for any kiddos that don’t like ‘big kid’ rides.
The last ride is the absolute BEST ride in ‘Shrek land’, it’s Puss In Boots Giant Journey! This is a coaster-type ride where guests are gliding through the sky on a journey with Puss In Boots.
I should have gone on this ride 10 times in a row, it was so empty when I visited. I wish I just stayed on all day.
My favorite part of the ride was the end because they played Lady Gaga. 😂
Shows in Far Far Away Land
You can also catch two different shows in Far Far Away Land.
The first show is ‘Donkey Live’. This is a theatery-type show with Donkey doing stand up comedy. It’s pretty cute and the kids will love it because it ends with a dance party.
The second show is Shrek 4-D. I’m trying to remember is this is the same Shrek show that was at Universal Studios Hollywood….but I’m not sure.
This is a super fun 3D show with a bit more action to make it 4D. You’ll love it!
Food in Far Far Away Land
Now to the food. The best part of any theme park. I will say I ate in the Jurassic Park land before finding my way to Far Far Away Land so a big meal wasn’t in the books, but a waffle definitely was.
My mission for the entire day was to eat a green Shrek waffle – and I did it.
You can order the waffle with chocolate sauce or ice cream as a topper. I went with chocolate sauce because me and ice cream just don’t get along.
At the same restaurant, you can also order a real meal. They have a variety of quick serve options for kids and adults.
I didn’t try the food at the restaurant but everyone seemed to be liking it. And the entire restaurant is Shrek-themed, so you really can’t go wrong.
Visiting Shrek at Universal Studios Singapore
Overall, it was an amazing experience visiting Far Far Away Land. It’s a beautiful addition to the park and I know Universal Studios Orlando is opening up a small Shrek-themed area later this year but I hope they’ll consider adding a ride or two from the Singapore park.
I didn’t realize how much I loved Shrek until I visited this land. It made me a kid again and I had to get some cute merch to remember my visit.
I also met Shrek and Fiona! Don’t forget to say hi to them! I snagged a photo inside the castle but it was raining when I visited, they may be outside next time if it’s sunny.
If you’re in Singapore and love theme parks and Shrek, I HIGHLY recommend visiting Universal Studios Singapore on Sentosa Island. You can also grab a great meal and do some shopping afterwards – that’s what I did. 😀
Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below. And if you’ve been before, what did you think! How much did you love it?!?! Hahaha
See you at the Parks!
XOXO,
Julia
