I read 61 books this year!! That’s a lot of smut – but not everything was smut – relax.
Also, I’ve decided that SMUT saves lives hahaha. That’s my new mantra. Read more smut!
I went from reading 11 books last year to 61 books this year, and it’s all because I discovered Fantasy books. Boy, do Fae warriors really get your read more.
I read vampire books, Fae books, lots of rom-coms, some very triggering books and then of course, lots of smut. So here’s my roundup of the smuttiest books I read this year!!
The only series I purchased was the ACOTAR series – everything else I read for free on Libby. I highly recommend Libby!! Sign up for free with your local library. You do have to wait a few weeks sometimes for books, but they’re free!!
Reading should always be accessible, no matter the genre. I’ve linked all the books I can through Barnes & Noble, but please get them on Libby if you can!!

Top Smut Books of 2025
People call them spicy books, I happen to love the word smutty or smut. There’s something very dirty about it, and gritty hahaha. So no judgement, please, this is a safe space.
Deviant King Series by Gina L. Maxwell
Loved this series!! Each book focuses on one of three brothers – I love a brothers series. Hehehe. My honest favorite was the Vicious King, because I loved the younger brother. I loved his story and the love with the FMC. I did and do have an issue with kidnapping as part of the forced proximity trope and that happened in book one, in The Dark King book. I dislike kidnapping and then people falling in love – that’s not healthy. I also had an issue with using ‘edging’ as a form of punishment – that also didn’t feel healthy and breaks trust between people (in my opinion). The characters did talk about it afterwards, which I did appreciate.
For obvious reasons, this is at the top of my list. I’m honestly going to categorize this book as a comedy-smut. It was hilarious!! I was laughing and gasping the entire time. I am so in love with Josh and Ally – they are my favorite. I would love to see more of them. They did show up in Caught Up but I actually wasn’t in love with that book. It is smutty but it felt very short and wrapped up things way too quickly – the story wasn’t fully developed for me but there was a lot of good smut in that book. I just prefer Lights Out. This book is a forever 10/10 SMUT!!
Muscles and Monsters by Ashley Bennett
This was my first and only wolf book. Hahaha. I don’t know how I feel yet about animals and humans….I know it’s like they are people, but also – they’re animals. I’m working through it. This was a 4-hour audiobook. It was smutty from the very beginning, which I appreciate. I love a book that knows what it is. Overall, the book was fun, short and smutty. You can’t go wrong with that.
Cocky Kingmans Series by Amy Award
Another brother series!! I just love me a group of respectful men. I LOVE this series – there are more in it but I haven’t read them yet. The theme of these books is perfection. They talk a lot about “enthusiastic consent” and a lot about body positivity. The “enthusiastic consent” part is really my favorite and I think its a good way to discuss consent. I absolutely loved this series, 10/10!! Oh, and the smut is smutty.
The Demon Queen Trials by C.N. Crawford
I love a fantasy smut series!! I will be honest, the audiobook for this series is a bit much and kind or ridiculous but you get over it. It was a fun one to listen to in traffic and I did have some fun gasping moments where I was into the fantasy aspect. The smut is great in this series too. I love tension and this book definitely has it.
Broken Bloodlines Series by Sadie Kincaid
The absolute smuttiest series I read in 2025. This series will have you gasping and questioning if people can hear your audiobook. This book is four vampires and one girl. That’s all I can say. They all date – together. Not like they all date her – they all date each other. This was another fantasy smut series where the fantasy was SO good!! I would get distracted by the actual plot hahaha. Damn it when smut books have a real plot. I loved it!! I loved it so much!! Read it! 10/10 series, smut and characters.
A Court of Thorns and Roses Series by Sarah J. Maas

I know you’ve all read them already but these are definitely smutty – especially book five. That book had me blushing. The other series in the universe are more focused on the actual world building and have a few smut scenes but if you’re looking for good fantasy smut – the ACOTAR series is where it’s at.
The Ruinous Love Trilogy by Brynne Weaver
This series is an all-time favorite! I will re-read these again and again. The love these characters have for each other and their emotional maturity and respect for their partners. Damn. This series is beautiful. Oh, and it’s ultra smutty!!! The smut makes the love stronger if that’s a thing. Kind of like in the ACOTAR series – the smut cements the relationships. They are all very physical and it works. Nothing seems forced. The characters are all there and I loved each of these books. Thank you, Brynne Weaver!!!
Willing Prey by Allie Oleander
I loved this book. The smut starts immediately, and like I said before, I love when a smut knows what it is. This book, like the others, is more than just smut. It’s actually a great book about independence and not being ashamed of who you are and what you like. It’s a really good post-breakup, post-divorce book. I felt really good reading this book. I did have to yell at the main character a few times about some situations, but we got past it. Absolutely loved this book and highly recommend!
