From iconic photo ops to hidden speakeasies, these are the Coachella moments you’ve got to check off at least once.
Whether it’s your first time heading to the desert or you’ve been coming for years, there’s something about Coachella that keeps you coming back.
The music is the main event, but the weekend is packed with moments that make it feel way bigger than just the setlist.
Between the art installations, the camp vibes, and the wild (but somehow perfect) $14 lemonade, there’s a lot to take in.
This blog post is all about the must-do items at Coachella—those bucket list things you just have to experience at least once.
Some are iconic, some are underrated, and a few are just straight-up fun.
I’ve done almost every one, and the ones I haven’t? They’re at the top of our list for next year.
So, whether you’re camping out or coming in for the day, save this list for your next trip to the polo fields.

🌴 Take a photo on the grassy hill
Once your camp is set up, walk over to the big hill—it’s tucked in the back, just to the right of Camping Hub. It’s kind of a tradition. Everyone heads there around sunset to hang out, relax, and take it all in. You’ll get a great view of the entire venue, and the photos? Always cute.
There’s also a peaceful little water area nearby with major lake-day vibes. Bring a blanket, find some shade, and chill out during the day.
🎶 Hang out (or party) at Camp
Even if you’re not camping, you can still hang out at the Coachella campgrounds during the day or night—as long as you have a wristband, you’re good to go. They’ve got food, a craft tent, daily activities like pilates and dodgeball, and nighttime DJs. When the festival ends, the silent disco keeps going until 3AM. It used to be a full-on dance party with music blasting—which was rough if you were trying to sleep. But now? Blessed silence (with headphones).
🎈 Take a photo with the balloon chain
This has become such a thing. You’ll see the massive balloon chain floating across the sky—it’s hard to miss. Just follow it until you find the team holding it down. You can take photos during the day or at night. It’s one of the most iconic shots from the weekend.
🎡 Ride the Ferris Wheel
Okay, full transparency: this one’s still on my bucket list.
My friends have done it. I haven’t. But next year? It’s happening.
You’ve gotta do it at least once—for the views and the vibes.

🍋 Enjoy a $14 lemonade
I mean… it’s overpriced, yes. But also? Kinda worth it. We grab them all weekend long, especially on the super hot days. They’re cold, refreshing, and basically a Coachella rite of passage.
🛍️ Rope drop the merch line
Yep, we rope drop at Coachella too. While some sprint to main stage barricades, we’re power walking to the merch booth. Even getting there first thing, we waited 45 minutes this year—and that was day one. If you want the good stuff before it sells out, go early. No pressure… just facts.
🌈 Walk through the Rainbow Tower (Spectra)
If you’re overheating, the Rainbow Tower is your friend. It’s fully air-conditioned and such a great escape from the sun. There’s not much going on inside, but the views are worth it. Cool off, snap some pics, and enjoy the breeze.
📸 Get cute pics in the photo booths
Coachella has added photo booths—and they’re so much fun. Each booth has its own design, and there’s one at Camp too. It’s $12 (card only), and you’ll walk away with the cutest little photo strip. We took one every day with different outfits. Totally worth it.
🍹 Find a Speakeasy
Yep—Coachella has secret speakeasies hidden around the festival. Some are tucked behind fake storefronts or disguised entrances and you’ll need to ask around or get lucky to find them. They usually have great cocktails, AC, and super chill vibes. It’s such a fun little mission if you’re into that kind of thing. Keep your eyes peeled and ask the right people—half the fun is just finding it.
✂️ Get Creative at the Craft Tent
Coachella camp has a full arts and crafts tent—and it’s not just for passing time. You can make friendship bracelets, customize accessories, and even check out hosted booths (Pinterest had a craft station this year!). It’s the perfect way to relax, chat with people, and let your inner kid shine a little.
Can’t Miss Coachella Experiences
That’s the list! Coachella is packed with once-a-year moments, and knocking a few of these off your bucket list makes the weekend even more memorable. Whether it’s your first festival or your fifth, there’s always something new to experience (or something you somehow missed last time).
