The Miami Design District will instantly become your favorite place in Miami. It’s calm, and breezy and reminds me of Montrose only lined with designer boutiques, art galleries, and some of the best restaurants you will ever dine at.
It gives off small-town vibes but no one there is a local. The Miami Design District is a hub for transplants, vacationers, Instagrammers, and celebrities. It’s a destination.
This post is all about the top 3 places to eat at the Miami Design District.
The Design District is shaded with lush green trees, quiet coffee shops, and lots and lots of money. Personally, I feel like it feels like fun money. The kind of money that’s obscene and unthinkable. But that’s all of Miami.
Having a foodie friend like BlakesBites to show you around Miami for a week means you’re eating at the best of the best restaurants in Miami. Blake doesn’t choose his restaurants by Michelin Reviews and Yelp, he will dine at every single restaurant, taco stand and food truck himself before he gives out a recommendation. It’s that kind of dedication that makes me trust every suggestion he provided us in Miami and even San Diego – our hometown.
Miami restaurants offer an array of flavors and experiences. The Design District is especially a great place to explore the vast range of restaurants and eateries.

Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is a Miami staple, located in the heart of the Design District. As one of the original restaurants in the area, Michael’s Genuine has seen the growth of the neighborhood firsthand. With the luxury boutiques and high-end cars that now line the streets, Michael’s Genuine has remained true to its classic, casual feel. The Michelin-rated restaurant offers high-end flavors with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Whether you’re looking for indoor or outdoor seating, Michael’s offers a comfortable atmosphere perfect for enjoying the Miami weather. It’s easy to see how Michaels Genuine has sustained itself through 15 years, a pandemic, and a large remodel. It’s a neighborhood classic.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Michael’s Genuine. We went during the week when it was a tad bit quieter. We dressed casually and ate beautifully. The service and food was amazing and I’m still thinking about that bucatini with shrimp. Check it out in the TikTok below.

Mia Market is a hidden gem located in the Miami Design District. It’s a one-of-a-kind food court with a unique atmosphere, complete with hand-crafted dishes and delicious cocktails. It’s a chef-driven experience that captures the essence of the area and offers something truly special. This food court is more than what you’re expecting. Please don’t think of the Century City Mall food court- it’s steps above that. Mia Market feels like one restaurant with 11 separate kitchens – if that makes sense. It’s separate but feels cohesive and well-planned.
Every seat is in the hall is perfect, from the booths to the bar. And each dish is made with care and attention to detail, and the quality of the food is outstanding. Mia Market is a great spot for groups, as everyone can sample the different dishes and find something they love. It’s an unforgettable experience that will keep you coming back for more!

COTE Miami is by far my favorite restaurant. The understated design is so simple you could easily walk by without noticing it. But, if you do catch a glimpse, you’ll be in for a treat! Opened in 2021, COTE Miami has already achieved Michelin-star status and has been nominated for a James Beard Award. It is labeled a Korean Steakhouse but we call it the best food in the world! When you visit, you can expect to stay for hours and sample some of their signature 45-day dry-aged beef, incredible house cocktails, and indulgent desserts. Don’t miss out on this incredible experience – COTE Miami is a must-visit for foodies in Miami!
