Worrying how you’re going to hold everything you need for a day trip to Disneyland? Backpacks can be too big sometimes and can be a bit of a burden on rides. Keep things simple with a crossbody bag that carries only the essentials and that includes your water bottle to stay hydrated.
Disneyland charges $4 for a Dasani bottled water and no one wants to carry that empty bottle around all day waiting to refill it. If you do, you still need a bag to hold it. When planning your Disney trip it’s best to focus on necessities first, and to be realistic. Once all of those things are taken care of, then you can focus on making it cute, fun, and magical.

This post is all about the best water bottle bags to pack for Disneyland.
Let’s talk more about the best bags to use at Disneyland to carry your water, wallet, and more. Keep it simple, lightweight, and comfortable. Don’t get carried away by everyone wearing huge bags. If you do need to store a few extra items like large jackets for cooler weather or souvenirs, storage lockers are only $7 to rent. You can also have the stores hold your items if you’re staying on Disney property.
Here are three simple and cute water bottle crossbody sling bags for Disneyland.
1. Calpak
The Calpak water bottle holder takes the cake for the cutest water bottle sling bag. Calpak offers a ton of colors and prints for their bags, so you can always find one that fits your style. The Calpak water bottle bag is a bit lighter than the Corkcicle bag, made with a ripstop water-resistant nylon material. It also has a removable adjustable strap and top carry handles.
This bag is truly for just the essentials, think phone, card case, and a few other small items. It’s perfect for Disney days when you’ve already purchased your souvenirs and are planning a fast-passed day of rides and shows.
2. Corkcicle
The sport sling by Corkcicle is the ultimate go-to water bottle bag for Disney Parks. It can fit a 32oz canteen, your phone, wallet, keys, and all your daily essentials. It’s a comfortable neoprene material with adjustable straps and is perfect for a day at the Disney Parks.
3. Vera Bradley
We love the Vera Bradley water bottle crossbody bag because it’s made from recycled water bottles and also includes slip pockets. The organization is really what sells this bag for me. Very Bradley is known for their fun prints and cute colorways and this bag has all of that and more. The crossbody bag is also water-repellant and has enough room for your cards, phone, and accessories.
What to Pack in Your Bag for Disneyland
Traveling light means only room for the essentials. The weather at Disneyland is usually perfect for a light sweater. If you want, you can pack a larger jacket for the night during colder months and in the summer, no jacket at all. Anaheim can reach up to over 100 degrees during the summer, so the nights are nice and warm. Since most of the year, you will only need a light sweater, these smaller crossbody water bottle bags are perfect. Below is a list of the essentials to pack with you for your “travel light” Disney day.
Portable charger
This is a MUST-PACK, top essential for any Disney trip. Please pack an extra phone charger. You would be surprised at how quickly your phone drains at the parks. Please pack a portable phone charger or purchase a Fuel Rod at Disneyland. Fuel Rods are $30 but you can switch them out forever and bring it back on another trip and use between trips too. They also have Fuel Rod stations at airports and other large hubs if you ever need to use it while traveling. We like to charge ours at home and switch it at the parks after we use it.
Phone
This one is obvious but pack your phone and watch. Track those steps for some extra fun, there will be lots of walking. We also like to use the walkie-talkie feature on our Apple Watches instead of calling each other if we get split up. Your phone is also an easier way to take photos so you don’t have to pack a camera. Many people do pack cameras but it’s all on your preference. You can also download the Disneyland App on your phone for mobile ordering, mobile checkout at stores and to secure your Lightning Lane passes if you purchase Genie Plus.
Sunscreen/Lotion
Hand lotion and sunscreen are great to have in your bag for a long day at Disneyland. Reapply your sunscreen throughout the day on your face and hands and your body if you’re wearing shorts or a short sleeve shirt. Also, reapply after you wash your hands and use a bit of lotion to avoid getting dry hands. I pack a tiny hand lotion and a stick sunscreen and they both fit easily in my bag.
Water Bottle
Pack a decent-sized water bottle with you for your Disney day. We go back and forth between the Costco water bottles and also our stainless steel ones. We also like to use our Brita water bottles because they have a filter included, so we can fill up at the water fountains. You probably already have one at your house you can pack, the larger bottles are good if you’re using a backpack, but for crossbody and sling bags, the tall thin ones will work perfectly.
Advil/Tums
In our thirties, the besties and I never leave the house without pain reliever and tummy medicine. Pack your favorites, grab a travel size or put some in a tiny ziplock, and thank me later. A pain reliever is also great to have to at the end of the day because if you are at Disneyland from opening to closing, your feet will most definitely be hurting. The stomach medicine is also great because you will be trying a lot of new snacks and drinks and you can never be too careful.
Hand Sanitizer/Wipes
Even before 2020, I was packing my hand sanitizer for the Parks…I’ve seen kids lick their hands and then touch every single item in the stores….it’s horrifying. Please wash your hands regularly, wipe down tables and menus and sanitize between rides. Pack a cute keychain hand sanitizer or some wipes in your bag, a small pack will fit perfectly in any fanny pack, or sling bag.
Sunglasses
Sunnies are a must for Disney days. My friends and I like to wear fun ones to jazz up our outfits but we do have our staple black sunnies that will look great with any outfit. Anaheim is usually sunny all year long, so protect your eyes with a cute pair of sunglasses.
Snacks
We always pack snacks for Disney days. Even if you plan on purchasing most of your items, it’s always helpful to have a couple of small treats in your bag for long lines or to enjoy while watching a show. Some items we’ve packed before are gummy candies, string cheese, a small bag of chips or crackers, KIND Bars, and trail mix.
I hope you found this post helpful while planning for your upcoming trip to Disneyland. Remember that each Disneyland experience is different, some days are for shows and rides and other days are for long meals and shopping. Pack and dress accordingly and plan ahead. Having a plan makes the day run smoothly and if you have any questions about what to pack, when to visit or where to stay, leave a comment below and I would love to help any way I can.
See you at the Parks!
