The Best Snacks to Pack for Disneyland
1. Uncrustables
My absolute favorite snack to pack for Disneyland is Uncrustables! First, I feel like a kid, and second, because they’re freaking delicious and easy to pack.
They are easy to store in your small bag or backpack and they can be kept for the full day without worrying if it’s safe to eat. That’s always a major concern when packing snacks and meals.
Uncrustables always seem to be our go-to snack for Disney days and travel days.
2. Beef Jerky and Baby Bell Cheese
Beef Jerky and Baby Bell Cheese is another favorite. We’re kind of obsessed with getting 100 grams of protein a day so this helps us, especially on those days filled with tons of churros and ice cream.
Baby bell cheese is great because it doesn’t get all melty and oily when it’s in your bag. The wax does a great job of preserving it, so it’s a lot better to pack than regular string cheese. Of course, we have string cheese always stocked at the house, so that’s our next go-to for on-the-go snacks.
3. Protein Bars – Fig Bars – Kind Bars
Bars are always tasty and super easy to throw in your bag for a Disney trip. I love the Builder Bars by Clif Bar, those yummy fig bars from Nature’s Bakery and Kind Bars.
4. Trail Mix – Dried Fruit and Nuts
No snack list would be complete without some trail mix or dried fruit. I love the basic trail mix with M&M’s. They do melt on the super hot days but it’s so worth it because it’s just too darn good.
You can find individual-sized packs of trail mix or nuts and fruit at any grocery store and Trader Joe’s also sells big bags of individual servings. I love the cranberry and dark chocolate mix.
5. Chips, Crackers, etc.
Lastly, I would say pack your favorite treat! I love Hot Cheetos and Cheeze-Its. Pick something that you’re going to actually want to snack on during the day.
You’re not going to want to eat dried fruit when you’re looking at a churro cart. So pack something that you know you love to eat, so you can save a bit of money on the extra treats.
Why Bring Your Own Food to Disneyland?
What are the benefits of packing your own snacks for Disneyland?
Save money
The biggest benefit to packing your own food for Disneyland is saving money. Disney snacks and meals can get pretty expensive, especially during the holiday season.
To save a few bucks during your trip, try packing some of your favorite snacks to enjoy in line and during shows. This will help to hold you over until your bigger meals and make those Disney treats extra special to enjoy.
Instant gratification and Easy Access
Packing your own snacks for Disneyland is also great because you can enjoy your snacks exactly when you want them; there are no long lines or mobile ordering needed.
Plus, you get to enjoy your snacks easily, without the fuss of walking to find what you’re looking for in a crowded park.
Special Dietary Needs
If you have special dietary needs, packing your own snacks and even meals can be a big help. Disney has gotten a lot better throughout the years making more vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free items but it’s not all the food.
To be safe, pack some of your go-to snacks that work for your diet needs. I would also recommend dining and full-service restaurants where you can adjust your meal order to better suit your needs.
Extra Items to Pack for Disneyland
- Water
- Wet Wipes
- Containers or Bags
- Tums, Pepto, Immodium
- Pain Relievers
Don’t forget water. It’s an easy one to forget. And while you can buy water at the parks and pick up cups for free at quick service restaurants; I find I only drink enough water when I pack a bottle myself.
I’ve often forgotten to purchase water until hours into our day and only drink coffee.
Pack water and your favorite powder or liquid mix-ins, like electrolyte powder, MIO, lemonade powder, or fruit punch.
For sticky hands and to wipe down rides, tables and railings; I like to pack wet wipes. I carry two kinds with me, the hand wipes and the disinfecting wipes. They’re super slim packs and fit easily into your bag. I grab them at Target or on Amazon.
Ziplock bags are another helpful item to pack for Disneyland. They are easy to pack and are great for storing extra snacks if you can’t finish them at that time and the Ziplock bags are great to store your phone on water rides.

Stomach medicine is my #1 item I reach for at Disneyland and also what my friends count on me to pack. We love to enjoy lots of food and drinks, it can take a major toll on your tummy.
