Coachella camping is not the place to “figure it out later” when it comes to food.
It’s hot, it’s dusty, you’re walking all day, and the last thing you want is to be hungry, dehydrated, or stuck eating overpriced food all weekend.
After doing Coachella camping multiple times, I’ve learned that what you pack (and how you prep it) makes a huge difference.
You want food that’s easy to make, easy to store, actually filling, and realistic for camping in the desert.
So here’s exactly what food to bring to Coachella camping, including easy meals, snacks, drinks, and a full grocery-style breakdown based on what we actually eat every year.

What to Know About Food at Coachella Camping
Picking your Coachella camping food doesn’t need to be difficult but you do need to know what to plan for.
It’s extremely hot during the day, and it can get cold at night, and you’ll be going back and forth between your campsite and the festival all day long.
Ice melts fast, you’re tired most of the time, and no one wants to cook a full meal at 1AM.
Camping at Coachella is honestly one of my favorite parts of the whole experience, but I also know how fast it can get annoying if you’re not prepared.
You want food that is quick, low effort, flexible, and easy to eat.
Think: hearty, comforting, but simple. A mix of hot meals and refreshing options because the temperature swings are real.
My Biggest Food Tips (This Will Make or Break It)

This is the part that will either make your weekend feel easy… or chaotic.
Prep as much as you possibly can at home.
We premake our breakfast burritos, pre-make rice, taquitos – everything. Anything that can be done ahead of time should be done ahead of time.
Food that can be reheated quickly or assembled in minutes is key.
One of my favorite Coachella memories is when we ran back to camp before Gaga. One bestie was making drinks, one was grabbing jackets, and I was making grilled cheese. We got everything done in like 15 minutes and ran back into the festival with grilled cheese in our hands. It was perfect.
That’s the goal.
During the day, we’ll do things like tacos with pre-chopped toppings. At night, it’s ramen or grilled cheese. And throughout the day, we’re constantly snacking.
Also, pack more snacks than you think. Always.
And yes, Uncrustables are elite. No notes.
Easy Breakfast Ideas for Coachella Camping
Mornings at Coachella camping can be a little rough, hahaha.
I have anxiety when I’m not at home, so I’m usually up with the sun – even if I went to bed at 2AM. It’s annoying, but it works for camping.
I’ll get up, hydrate, use the restrooms, and start making breakfast.
Most mornings, I’m just heating up pre-made breakfast burritos. They’re easy, filling, and exactly what you need.
Later in the morning when it gets hotter, we switch to lighter options like fruit, yogurt, or just slicing up a huge watermelon and eating cuties throughout the day. Hydrating foods are everything.

If you want to cook, bacon and eggs are super easy. You can even pre-crack your eggs into a jar at home so you can just shake them up and pour — no mess, no hassle.
I’ve also seen people prep French toast mix ahead of time in a jar, which is genius. We haven’t done it yet, but it’s on the list for a fancier morning, hahaha.
And then for drinks; cold brew (my favorite is STOK), coffee from a French press, tons of water, electrolytes, Gatorade, and coconut water.
Easy Lunch & Dinner Ideas for Coachella Camping
This is where we really go all out. Hahaha.
We love making good food at camp, but it still has to be easy.
Some of our go-to meals are things like taquitos, sandwiches, and rice bowls that we’ve prepped ahead of time. Breakfast burritos also double as lunch, which is ideal.

For quick-cook meals, tacos are always a win. We pre-chop all the toppings and just cook the meat at camp.
Spam and rice is another easy one; we’ve made little musubi-style bowls and packed seaweed snacks to go with it.

Ramen is a must for late nights. Same with grilled cheese and quesadillas. Both are easy, comforting, and exactly what you want after a long day.

One morning, I went to Ralphs to grab more Uncrustables and drinks; I grabbed some Totino’s Pizza Rolls. They were the best getting-ready snack.

We also love peppers and onions – super easy to prep ahead and cook quickly.
And then for cooler meals, we always start Day 0 with ceviche. Our bestie makes the best ceviche and we absolutely devour it.

Pasta salad is another great option. It’s easy to make ahead and honestly gets better as it sits. Just make sure everything is stored properly in your cooler.
The only things we leave out are chips and crackers. Everything else goes in the cooler.
Best Snacks to Bring to Coachella Camping
Snacks are everything at Coachella.

You’re walking all day, you don’t always have time for full meals, and sometimes you just need something quick before heading back in.

We always pack:
- fruit
- yogurt
- chips
- cookies
- Uncrustables
- granola bars
- trail mix
Uncrustables really are the MVP. Easy, filling, no prep, no mess.
Drinks to Pack for Coachella Camping

Drinks are just as important as food – if not more.
For hydration, we always bring at least one large water jug per person, plus electrolytes, Gatorade, and coconut water.
For coffee, I bring cold brew and my besties bring a French press.

For alcohol, we keep it simple:
- beer or canned cocktails (usually one case per person – we never finish it, but we like to pack it hahaha)
- liquor in plastic bottles (we transfer it ahead of time and mark them accordingly)
- mixers like juice, soda, and sparkling water
We also pack fun extras like bag shots for the festival and ingredients for cocktails.

We definitely go all out with drinks. Homemade syrups, fresh limes, mint… it’s a whole situation hahaha.

Food Prep Tips Before You Leave
This is what makes everything easier.
Pre-make meals, pre-cut everything, freeze what you can, and pack it all in containers.
Label things if you can – it helps more than you think.
Doing this ahead of time will save you so much time and energy at camp. You don’t want to be chopping onions in the desert at 2PM.
Also, pre-cool your cooler. If that makes sense hahaha.

I pack ice packs or just frozen water jugs in the cooler a few days before we leave to get it nice and cold and that way it keeps things cooler for longer once you add the ice and all of your food and drinks.
Go shopping with your friends the week of Coachella or send one person out and then everyone can Venmo.
For us, I usually make a couple meals and our friends make a couple meals ahead too. Then we stop at Walmart in Temecula and grab all the drinks, snacks and rest of the ice for the trip and just split it between us.
Camping Kitchen Essentials
We take our kitchen setup very seriously, hahaha.

You’ll want:

- sponge + dish soap
- plates, cups, utensils, napkins, paper towels
- Dish towels for drying pots and pans
