Room service on a Disney Cruise is free (yes, really)… so naturally, we had to try it more than once. Here’s everything we ordered and what I’d get again.
On our first Disney Cruise, we quickly realized that free room service was going to be one of our favorite perks on board. We’re big late-night snack people, so the idea of ordering food straight to our room had our name written all over it.
There’s just something about ordering Disney Cruise room service, climbing into bed, and snacking on something sweet while watching a Disney movie that feels like peak vacation. Especially after a long day – whether that’s snorkeling at Castaway Cay, exploring a port, or just being out in the sun all day – coming back to your room and relaxing with a snack is kind of perfect.
So if you’re wondering what to order from complimentary room service on the Disney Fantasy, here’s everything we tried, and what was actually worth it.

Is Room Service Free on a Disney Cruise?

Yes, and this is one of those things that still feels a little too good to be true.
Room service on a Disney Cruise is included in your cruise fare, and it’s available 24/7.
The only thing you’re expected to do is tip the crew member who delivers your food (we usually did a couple dollars each time).
And once you realize it’s free… it becomes very easy to justify ordering it.
What’s Not Free with Disney Cruise Room Service
Room service on a Disney Cruise is mostly free… but not everything is included, and this is where it can get a little confusing.
The main things that are not included:
- Bottled water
- Soda (cans or bottles ordered through room service)
- Alcoholic beverages
- Specialty coffee drinks
Even though soda and water are included in your cruise fare, that only applies to the self-serve drink stations on the ship, not room service delivery.
So if you order a Coke or bottled water to your room, you’ll be charged for it.
What I Recommend Instead
This is one of those easy workarounds that makes a big difference.
Before heading back to your room, stop by the drink stations on the main deck and fill up:
- A reusable water bottle
- A tumbler for soda or iced drinks
Then just bring it back with you.
It saves money and makes it way easier to have drinks in your room whenever you want them.
One More Thing About Breakfast
Room service breakfast is a little different too.
You can order a continental breakfast (pastries, fruit, coffee, juice), but:
👉 hot breakfast is not included with standard room service
If you want things like eggs, pancakes, or a full breakfast, you’ll need to go to one of the onboard dining locations, unless you’re staying in a Concierge-level room.
What It’s Like Ordering Room Service
Ordering is super simple.
There’s a menu in your room, you pick up the phone, and they walk you through your order. It never felt complicated, and everything we ordered showed up pretty quickly.
One thing I liked is that it didn’t feel overly formal or structured – you can order as much or as little as you want.
Which we definitely took advantage of.
Everything We Ordered from Disney Cruise Room Service
We ordered room service a couple different times throughout the cruise, and instead of trying to be strategic about it… we kind of just ordered whatever sounded good.
Here’s everything we tried:
- Tomato soup with grilled cheese
- A bag of cookies
- Mickey ice cream bar
- Burger and fries
- Pasta with garlic bread
- Garden salad
A very random mix – but honestly, that’s kind of the fun of it.
What Was Actually Good on a (And What I’d Skip)
What we actually ordered for room service during our Disney Cruise. We ordered twice during our four-night stay. We will definitely be ordering more during our next trip because I want to try everything!
| Item | Would We Order Again? |
|---|---|
| Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yes |
| Mickey Ice Cream Bar | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yes |
| Burger & Fries | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Maybe |
| Garden Salad | ⭐⭐⭐ Fine |
| Pasta & Garlic Bread | ⭐⭐ Probably Not |
| Cookies | ⭐⭐ Only Warmed Up |
The Standouts

The tomato soup and grilled cheese was probably my favorite thing we ordered.
It was warm, simple, and just really hit after a long day. It’s one of those comfort meals that feels even better when you’re eating it in your room, winding down.
The Mickey ice cream bar is a classic for a reason. It’s exactly what you expect, and yes, it’s worth ordering at least once.
👉 One of my favorite parts of the Disney Fantasy was trying all the food. Here are the best things I ate onboard, from snacks and desserts to full meals →
The Burger & Fries
The burger and fries were good, but not something I’d go out of my way to order again.
The Garden Salad
This was one of those “we should probably order something balanced” moments.
It was fresh and decent, but let’s be honest… you’re not ordering room service on a Disney Cruise for the salad.
What I’d Skip Ordering on a Disney Cruise

The cookies were not it. They were very hard and not great. I heard you can request them heated up, so I’d recommend doing that if you do order them but I don’t think we’d order them again. But you never know!
Same with the pasta and garlic bread – it was fine, but it didn’t stand out compared to everything else you can eat on the ship. Even as a free meal to the room, I was just underwhelmed. So, next time it’s a pass.
Best Disney Cruise Room Service Items We Tried
If you’re only ordering room service once, I’d recommend:
- Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese
- Mickey Ice Cream Bar
- Cheeseburger & Fries
When Disney Cruise Room Service Is Actually Worth It
This is where room service really shines.
Late Night
After shows or just being out all day, it’s so nice to come back and not have to leave your room again.
Lazy Mornings
If you don’t feel like getting ready right away, ordering breakfast or something light is such an easy option.
Quick Snacks
Sometimes you don’t want a full meal, you just want something small, and this is perfect for that.
Wind-Down Time
There’s something about eating in your room, putting on a movie, and just relaxing that feels like a reset.
