We recently booked a 2-night stay at Portofino Inn and Suites for my bestie’s birthday weekend. We went to the parks Friday and Saturday and headed home Sunday morning.
Check-in for the hotel was at 3 PM and we arrived around 5 PM and were able to get our room with no issues.
This post is all about staying at the Portofino Inn & Suites near Disneyland in Anaheim.
Because we had 5 adults in one room, there was a bit of a delay checking in because we all had to register our vehicles.
Other than that, the check-in process was smooth and the staff was friendly.
Below is a complete breakdown of our stay at the Portofino Inn & Suites in Anaheim near Disneyland, including a room tour, and photos of the pool, fitness center and in-room dining.

Location
Address: 1831 S Harbor Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92802
The Portofino Inn & Suites is 0.6 miles from the Disneyland bus depot and security main gate entrance.
We walked this to and from and it takes about 10-15 minutes, depending on how fast you walk and also how tired you are after a long day at Disneyland.
I recommend walking to Disneyland from the hotel, instead of driving. It’s easier and the parking fee is the same as Disneyland.

Room Tour
Our room was on the 5th floor of the Venice building, which is their second building. We were able to grab a luggage cart on the way up to the room on Friday afternoon but there wasn’t a cart in sight around 7 AM – 9 AM on Sunday morning when we were leaving, so be prepared to carry your luggage.
I loved the size of our room, we had 5 adults in the room; 2 shared the queen bed, 1 slept on the pull-out couch and then 2 were on the bunk beds.

We liked how there were two sinks in the room but the bathroom door opened up into the outside mirror area, so you would completely hit the person outside of the bathroom every time you came out of the bathroom.
This was a bit of an issue because, with 5 girls, someone was always showering or doing makeup, so it got kind of annoying after a while.
Another issue we had was with storage/organization in the bathroom. The only rack was inside the shower and we ordered up extra towels since there were 5 of us and we had nowhere to put them.
We ended up putting them next to the sink and they got all wet. It would have been nice if they added an extra shelf or two or some hooks in the bathroom to help organize items, especially since the room sleeps 6.
On the upside, we were welcomed with a surprise birthday gift basket for my friend and the hotel offered room service.
The room also had two TVs, one mini fridge, one microwave, and one Keurig machine. I don’t trust hotel coffee machines, so we skipped that but we did use the microwave and refrigerator.
The console that housed everything was very old and had scratches everywhere. It looked like it was from the 90’s. The whole room looked a bit outdated and needed to be renovated.

They also had an ice machine and vending machine right next to our room which was convenient.
Amenities
Pool
They had a decently sized pool on the property that looked clean and updated. There were nice lounge chairs and little cabana-type seating areas that were great too.
It is right off the parking lot but most of it is blocked off from anyone seeing you, so that was nice.
Fitness Center
The fitness center was small but nice. It had a treadmill and an elliptical machine, plus weights.
This room felt clean and updated and it’s a nice amenity to have on property.
In-room Dining
This is a new amenity to the property, room service! We loved this and definitely took advantage of it during our stay.
We ordered dinner in our room on Friday night and it was wonderful!

Laundry
The hotel does offer on-site laundry. You will need to pay per load and bring your own soap but it’s. a great amenity to have on property.
On longer trips, we like to do our laundry before heading home to make easing back into the week easier.
You can find the laundry room across from the fitness center and pool, just off the lobby.
Dining
Portofino Inn & Suites doesn’t have on-site dining but they do offer room service through a third party and they also have a small gift shop with snacks.
If you’re looking for snacks and some cheaper souvenirs, I would recommend walking next door to CVS instead of visiting the gift shop. They have more options and probably better prices.
For room service, the hotel has partnered with CAMO Eats to provide food delivery, straight to your door. There’s no need to sign up for anything, just enter your room number, order and pay and it will be at your door!
We ordered room service on the first night of our stay and it was at our door within 17 minutes. So it’s a great option if you’re in the room and looking to eat more than just chips and dip.
They deliver from 12 PM – 11 PM and have a huge variety of food. You can check out the video below I made for some more details.
@julia.vaness The best part of any hotel stay is always the food. We ordered late night room service at our hotel Portofino Inn and Suites through CAMO Eats. They provide the best food and deliver right to your door. Parking
The hotel has a good amount of parking but it does fill up fast. We were able to get parking in their structure when we arrived around 5 PM on Friday but our friend that arrived around 7 PM had to park in the neighboring structure.
It was still on the same property but it was a bit of an extra walk and at night.
Parking is $30/vehicle per night. The same as Disneyland parking prices. All of the hotels in the area will charge similar nightly rates, if not more.
If a hotel doesn’t charge for parking, it’s usually rolled into the nightly room price. But still expect to pay if you have more than 1 car for your room.
Cleanliness & Furnishings
The Portofino Inn & Suites could be cleaner and nicer. The furniture in our room was peeling and completely scratched. It doesn’t look like anything is maintained. And the bathroom shower was dirty.
I didn’t feel gross or anything in the rooms and you can tell they do clean them but it wasn’t the best experience.
You pay a premium to stay within walking distance of Disneyland, and I feel like every hotel should live up to that premium, no matter the budget. And by that I mean, updated and well-maintained rooms and communal spaces.
Final Thoughts
The Portofino Inn and Suites is in a great location, definitely within walking distance to Disneyland but does need some significant renovations.
While the outside of the hotel and the lobby have been updated, the hallways and the rooms look old and worn.
The hotel was a decent price, especially with 5 adults splitting the room and it was close to CVS and had covered parking.
I would stay here again based on the location and proximity to other surrounding locations but it wouldn’t be my first pick.
Have you stayed at this hotel before? Did I miss anything about the location? Let me know in the comments below.
See you at the Parks!
Julia
