If you’ve ever wondered “Can I bring alcohol on a Disney Cruise?”—you’re not alone. I had the same question before my first sailing.
As I’m sure many adults do!
And honestly, the rules are pretty generous for a Cruise, but there are some important things you’ll want to know before you pack your bags (and your beverages!).
This post is all about bringing alcohol on Disney Cruise ships.
So, let’s break it down clearly: yes, you can bring alcohol on a Disney Cruise, but there are limits, rules, and a few helpful tips that can make your experience smoother and save you money on board.
First, the Disney Cruise Alcohol Policy (AKA the Rules)
Here’s what Disney Cruise Line allows per adult guest (21+):
- Up to 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (750ml or less)
OR - Up to 6 beers (12 ounces or less)
You can bring this onboard at the beginning of your cruise and again at each port of call. That means if your itinerary includes multiple ports, you can restock along the way!
Just be aware that if you purchase liquor or spirits at a port of call, it will need to be stored for the duration of the trip. This also includes any excess beer or wine over the limit.
Guests will need to pick up their extra beer, wine or spirits on the last day before they disembark the ship.
But here’s the key part:
👉 All alcohol must be in your carry-on luggage—not your checked bags.
Security will flag it if it’s in checked luggage, and it may be held or discarded. So keep it with you when you board and be ready to carry it until your stateroom is available.
The drinking age rules may be different if you are leaving from an international Port. So if the cruise begins and ends in Europe/Singapore/Australia, the drinking age is based on the country. Be sure to check. But if you are leaving from a U.S.-based port, the minimum drinking age is 21 years old.
What Kind of Alcohol Can You Bring?
Unfortunately, you can’t bring White Claw, Truly, High Noon, CutWaters—those types of drinks – on a Disney cruise.
You can, however, pack your favorite beer. (i.e., under 12 oz each, and no more than 6 total per adult).
Cans and bottles are both allowed. They just need to be sealed and in their original containers. They don’t have to be the same 6 beers, but they do need to be unopened and clearly labeled.
Can You Drink Your Own Alcohol on a Disney Cruise?
Kind of! Here’s the breakdown:
- 🍷 You can enjoy your wine or champagne at dinner, but Disney will charge a $29 corking fee per bottle in the dining rooms.
- 🍻 You cannot drink your own alcohol in public areas like the pool deck, lounges, or bars.
- 🧊 You can drink it in your stateroom, so be sure to request a corkscrew when you board.
What If You Buy Alcohol in Port?
If you buy wine, beer, or spirits at a port of call (like a winery, local shop, or duty-free store), you’re allowed to bring only the policy amount (2 bottles or 6 beers) back onboard with you in your carry-on.
Anything beyond that? Disney will store it for you until the end of your cruise. So don’t count on bringing back a stash to enjoy mid-trip—you will need to pick it up before you disembark on the last day.
Do Disney Cruises Offer an Alcohol Package?
Not exactly. Unlike other cruise lines, Disney does not offer an unlimited alcohol package. But they do have:
- 🍷 Wine Packages (you pre-select a number of bottles to have with dinner)
- 🍺 Beer Packages (you get a refillable souvenir mug and discounted refills)
You can order these before your cruise through Onboard Gifts or wait until you’re on the ship. Personally, I like to wait and decide once I have a feel for the vibe (and how much I’ll realistically drink).
Want to Try Something Fun Onboard?
Check out the Beverage Tastings! These are super popular, book up fast, and give you a fun experience with cocktails, whiskey, tequila, champagne, or wine. Plus, they’re reasonably priced and a great way to discover a new favorite drink.
We did this on embarkation day and met some great people!! Everyone was there to have a good time. Highly, highly recommend one of the beverage tastings!
@julia.vaness The very first thing we did on our first ever Disney cruise was go to a mixology class. We had so much fun!! Everyone in the class was amazing and hilarious. It was a great way to kickoff the cruise. And we asked everyone for tips for the cruise and most of the people in the class had been on 10+ cruises!! They have a bunch of different tasting classes but this one aounded the most fun for us. We’ve already booked our second cruise if you have any other tips for what classes to take next! #skylinedisneycruise #skylinebardisneyfantasy #disneycruise #dcl #disneycruisemixologyclass #disneyfantasy #disneyfantasycruise #thingsforadultsdisneycruise #adultsonlydisneycruise #nokidsdisneycruise #mixologyclassdisneycruise #disneycruiseline #barsondisneyfantasy #thingstododisneyfantasy ♬ original sound – Julia Vaness
