Disney Fantasy Cruise Mixology Class Review 🍹✨
I’ll be honest – this was my very first Disney Cruise. And when I say I had no idea what to expect? I mean it.
Everyone kept telling me, “There’s so much to do on a Disney Cruise!” and I was like, okay but… like what exactly??
I had visions of Disney World at sea, but I truly didn’t know what I was walking into.
But one thing kept popping up again and again when I searched for recommendations: the Mixology Class.
People raved about it. Said it was fun, a great way to meet other cruisers, and the perfect adults-only activity to kick off your trip. So, I booked it.
Let me tell you all about the experience – how it went, what we made (and drank), and why I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Whether you’re a Disney Cruise newbie like I was or just looking to add something extra to your sailing, this class might be your new favorite sea day activity.
When to Book the Mixology Class
This class is super popular, so if you’re interested – book it as soon as your 30-day reservation window opens up. That’s what I did. I didn’t want to risk missing out, especially since I had no clue what I was doing and wanted something fun scheduled right away to kick things off.
We boarded the Disney Fantasy around 1:30 PM, quickly dropped our bags in our stateroom, and headed straight to the class at 2 PM. I purposely booked an early time because I was honestly nervous we’d just be wandering around not knowing where to go. (First cruise jitters are real!)
Our Mixology Class Experience
I don’t know why, but I was expecting the ship to feel like Disney World at sea, complete with teens in the Disney College Program everywhere.
But you guys. I was so wrong. 😂
Literally everyone working on the ship was an adult, and they were all from different parts of the world. It was amazing. It felt so different from the vibe at the parks – and I loved it.
The Mixology Class was hosted by one of the bartenders onboard, and while we didn’t get to make each drink ourselves, we got to watch, learn, sip, and even try pouring a layered shot (which was hilarious and fun—I messed mine up the first time, but they let me try again!).
We sampled five cocktails in total. The bartender explained where each drink came from, what types of liquor were used, and gave tips on how to shake or stir them properly. He also shared how each drink should be served, which I found so interesting – especially because I love hosting and now I actually know what I’m doing a little more.
Everyone in our group was in full vacation mode. And they were all Disney Cruise veterans. I’m talking 10+, even 13 cruises! We sat next to the sweetest couple (on their 13th Disney Cruise) and had the best time chatting, laughing, and just soaking it all in. It felt like the perfect start to our trip.
The whole class was about $40 per person (don’t quote me – I honestly don’t pay too much attention once I’m in vacation mode), and it was 100% worth it. You get five drinks, a fun experience, and the chance to meet other adults who are also just trying to enjoy a good cocktail at sea.
@julia.vaness The very first thing we did on our first ever Disney cruise was go to a mixology class. We had so much fun!! Everyone in the class was amazing and hilarious. It was a great way to kickoff the cruise. And we asked everyone for tips for the cruise and most of the people in the class had been on 10+ cruises!! They have a bunch of different tasting classes but this one aounded the most fun for us. We’ve already booked our second cruise if you have any other tips for what classes to take next! #skylinedisneycruise #skylinebardisneyfantasy #disneycruise #dcl #disneycruisemixologyclass #disneyfantasy #disneyfantasycruise #thingsforadultsdisneycruise #adultsonlydisneycruise #nokidsdisneycruise #mixologyclassdisneycruise #disneycruiseline #barsondisneyfantasy #thingstododisneyfantasy ♬ original sound – Julia Vaness
Final Thoughts
If you’re sailing on the Disney Fantasy – or any Disney Cruise, honestly – book the Mixology Class.
It was fun, casual, informative, and a great way to ease into cruise life if you’re new like I was. You’ll walk away a little buzzed and a lot happier. 🥂
We had such a great time that I’m already planning to book it again on our next cruise aboard the Disney Adventure (sailing from Singapore!). I’m curious to see if the experience is different on that ship.
Let me know if you have any questions about the class – I’m happy to share more details or tips!
