Oogie Boogie Bash is back at Disney California Adventure, and the villain lineup for 2025 is looking so good it’s bad.
This after-hours, separately ticketed Halloween party is hands-down one of the best events of the year at Disneyland Resort.
Guests can dress up in costumes, go trick-or-treating, ride attractions with much shorter lines, and – of course – meet some of Disney’s most wickedly fun characters.
This year’s bash runs on select nights from August 17 through October 31, 2025, and the character list is stacked with returning favorites and some brand-new surprises.
Let’s break down who you’ll see wandering the shadows of California Adventure this Halloween season.
Villains You Can Meet at Oogie Boogie Bash
The villains are always the stars of the night, and this year’s lineup doesn’t disappoint. You’ll encounter:
- Maleficent: Disney’s original mistress of evil is always a must-see.
- Syndrome: The over-the-top villain from The Incredibles makes his wicked return.
- Dr. Doofenshmirtz: Yes, the mad scientist from Phineas and Ferb is back on his hilarious treat trail.
- Ernesto de la Cruz: Straight from Coco, he’s back to charm and haunt at the same time.
And don’t forget the extra treat trail villains:
- Agatha Harkness (Agatha All Along) in Avengers Campus.
- Hades (Hercules) in Hollywood Land.
- Judge Doom (Who Framed Roger Rabbit) – a super rare character sighting!
- Yokai (Big Hero 6) in San Fransokyo Square.
The Frightfully Fun Parade
One of my favorite parts of Oogie Boogie Bash is the Frightfully Fun Parade, and it’s back again with a killer cast. You’ll see:
- Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween best.
- Jack Skellington and Sally with friends from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
- Villains like Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog), Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Mother Gothel (Tangled), Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmatians), and Captain Hook (Peter Pan).
But the real chills come when Haunted Mansion characters appear – ballroom dancers, gravediggers, and the iconic hitchhiking ghosts materialize right before your eyes. It’s spooky, it’s playful, and it’s such a perfect Disneyland Halloween moment.
Bonus Characters & Special Sightings
In between candy stops and villain encounters, keep your eyes open—Oogie Boogie Bash always has surprise character appearances across the park. This year you may spot:
- Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle Cow dressed as the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus (such a fan-favorite!).
- The Queen of Hearts and Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.
- Pain and Panic from Hercules.
- Hans from Frozen.
And that’s just a taste – Disney loves to sprinkle in surprises throughout the night.
Why Oogie Boogie Bash Is Worth It
Between the exclusive character meet-and-greets, unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads, immersive treat trails, Halloween ride overlays, and that incredible parade, Oogie Boogie Bash is one of the must-do events of the season at Disneyland Resort.
Tickets always sell out quickly, so if you’re planning to go this year, grab them early.
Are you heading to Oogie Boogie Bash this year? Which villain or character are you most excited to meet? Personally, I can’t wait to see Judge Doom and the Sanderson Sister trio – it’s giving spooky, rare Disney magic in the best way.
