We just visited Grind House Coffee in Chula Vista after seeing Doechii the night before. Let’s just say… we stayed up way too late and ended the night with way too much instant ramen.
So, the next morning? Definitely called for some strong coffee and a good breakfast sandwich.
My bestie instantly recommended Grind House Coffee, so that’s where we went. We showed up around 8 a.m., and the place already had a nice morning flow — mostly locals grabbing their usuals. You could tell right away it was a neighborhood spot; the baristas were greeting people by name and chatting like old friends.
Let’s get into the review.
Location
Address: 260 ½ Third Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91910
Grind House was very easygoing, with a neighborhood feel. It’s small and intimate but still lively, with locals coming and going. We saw the baristas greet customers by name multiple times. That’s always a good sign.

There’s art on the walls from local artists and a relaxed energy that makes it feel personal, not corporate. It’s the kind of place you could sit for an hour catching up with a friend or just scroll on your phone while sipping your drink.

Grind House Chula Vista Menu
They had a great menu! Lots of your favorite drinks, like flavored iced coffees and matcha and then some good food options too.

What We Ordered
I ordered an iced matcha latte, and it was perfect – smooth and refreshing. It was a bit too early for me to grab some coffee, but matcha always hits the spot.

My bestie went for the peanut butter latte and loved it! I tried some too and it was great – and I’m not even a peanut butter person.
For food, we both got the bacon and egg sandwich, which is exactly what we needed after a crazy night out. It was simple, hearty, and satisfying.

My only small wish? A little homemade hot sauce or spicy aioli on the side — but that’s just the hot-sauce girl in me talking.
And because I can’t say no to things – I ordered two breakfasts. 😀
In addition to the breakfast sandwich, I also ordered spicy avocado toast, topped with pickled jalapeños and sprouts.

It wasn’t super spicy, but it had a little kick. I do think it could’ve used something extra — maybe some sliced tomato or fresh lemon juice to brighten it up.
Next time, I’ve got my eye on the bacon avocado toast – it looked hearty and flavorful when I saw it at another table.

Final Thoughts
I love discovering small, local coffee shops that feel like a part of the neighborhood, and Grind House Coffee checks all the boxes.
Great drinks, friendly service, and a welcoming space you actually want to linger in.
If you’re spending time in Downtown Chula Vista, definitely stop by for a latte or breakfast sandwich.
Let me know if you’ve tried Grind House and if you have any other favorite spots in Chula Vista I should try.
