The Hilton Anaheim is one of the more popular hotels in the Anaheim Resort area. It’s attached to the convention center, is within walking distance of Disneyland, and has good room rates.
My husband and I booked two nights here for the beginning of Pixar Fest at the Disneyland Resort.
I was initially really excited about our stay here but unfortunately, neither of us was in love with this hotel.
Let’s get into all the details below.

Hilton Anaheim Distance from Disneyland
Address: 777 W Convention Way, Anaheim, CA 92802
The Hilton Anaheim is about 1 mile from Disneyland’s main entrance on Harbor Blvd. You can definitely walk but they also offer the Anaheim ART Bus.
I have a few issues with the ART Bus, so we chose to walk to and from Disney each time.
The walk from the Hilton Anaheim to Disneyland is about 15 minutes if you don’t get caught at every long light. The long lights really add time but the walk is fine.
The Hotel is also across the street from the Toy Story parking lot, so you could also walk there and take the free shuttle to the Parks. This is a great option if it’s not too busy.

Hilton Anaheim Ambiance and Decor
The first thing we noticed immediately as we walked in was how dark and outdated it was. The walls downstairs and in the rooms are a yellow-brown color and all of the lighting is yellow too.
They could easily bring up the vibe of the hotel with some lighting changes, even without major renovations.
Service at Hilton Anaheim Hotel
The man who checked us in was very nice. It was a busy weekend with a HUGE conference with high school kids, so the place was packed.
On a side note, this is why I don’t usually like staying at large convention center hotels. Way too many people.
We checked in quickly and because we’re Hilton Gold members, they offered us a credit of 1000 Hilton Honors points or a daily $30 food and beverage credit. We went with the $30 credit.
With Hilton Gold, you also get a fastpass for Starbucks, and the waters in your room and WiFi are complimentary.
The food and beverage credit can also be used at the lobby Starbucks and the pool bar.
All of this sounded better than the 1000 points which came out to about $6.
We went to the pool on our second day and we were looking forward to ordering a drink and a snack as we relaxed.
To our surprise, there was no pool bar. It was closed. It also looked super outdated, like an old snack bar.
We saw they had a sign to scan to order food to the pool. We did this and it was also very confusing and inconvenient. They only had canned drinks and the delivery options were for the room only. I had to write in the notes that it was for a pool delivery. It was very odd considering the fact the sign that we scanned to order was at the pool.
We ended up not ordering because our two $8 beers ended up costing $29 with the delivery fee. Insanity!! Instead, we chose to use our credit at the Lobby bar for a couple of drinks before heading into the Parks for fireworks.
We used our second $30 credit at Starbucks the next day and the Hilton Starbucks is way overpriced. Two drinks (a plain iced latte and a cold brew) with egg bits and a turkey bacon sandwich were $36!! But we had the $30 credit so that was fine with us.
As we went to check out and check our bill before leaving they said we didn’t qualify for the $30 daily credit because we booked using points.
The woman was so adamant about us not getting the credit because it was booked through a third party but the only reason we purchased anything at all was that we were told we had a daily credit.
She ended up speaking to a manager for a few minutes and granted us the $30 credit. I’m so glad we stopped by to check our bill before heading out. The staff needs to understand how third-party bookings work because it would have cost us $60 if we had not gone to check.

Shops at Hilton Anaheim
Gift Shop at Hilton Anaheim
Because the Hilton Anaheim is such a huge hotel they have two big gift shops. Both are located on the main floor by the lobby.
The first store is more of a mini-mart with some nice souvenirs and the second one is basically a Disney store. It’s all the same items you can find at the nearby CVS and Walmart plus some extras like Loungefly bags.
Nail Salon at Hilton Anaheim
The hotel had a pretty cute-looking nail salon in the main lobby next to the souvenir shop called Pure Escape.
The hotel hosts a ton of events like weddings and small conferences, so this is an easily accessible salon if you need to get your nails done before an event.
Pool and Fitness Center at the Hilton Anaheim
Let’s start with the good – the fitness center. The fitness center was very large and clean and bright. It was the brightest room in the entire hotel.
It was super confusing to find though and kind of creepy to get to. It was located on the lower level below the lobby and that area was dead empty with tons of dark windows and locked rooms. It all looked like an abandoned conference center.
The gym wasn’t clearly marked and had multiple signs pointing in different directions.
Overall, the gym ended up being really nice so I would recommend visiting if you want to get some steps in during your stay.
The pool at the Hilton Anaheim was not as nice as the fitness center. As I mentioned earlier, there was no pool bar. Just another empty, out-of-use building where a snack stand used to be.
The entire pool area was out of date and kind of sad. I was so excited to spend some time at the pool but we ended up only spending like 20 minutes there.
The old pool chairs looked dirty and the pool was warm but also had tons of hair and random things floating in it.
I hate complaining so much but I was so disappointed and it didn’t feel clean at all.
Dining at Hilton Anaheim
MIX
The Hilton Anaheim has a pretty large restaurant on the property. It’s located on the main floor just off from the Lobby and Mix Lounge.
They serve breakfast lunch and dinner here. All of the food did look very good but we didn’t have time to try it out.
MIX Lounge
We did grab a couple of drinks at the Mix Lounge on the main floor lobby area. This area was never too crowded. They have a tone of seating that does fill up during the day but the main bar area was never insanely packed.
We grabbed a drink here before and after the Parks, and both times we had good service. We stuck with vodka/sodas, so we didn’t try any of their signature cocktails but everything looked really good.
Sidenote, in the online photos for the hotel everything has been lightened and brightened. It’s a lot darker and yellower in the hotel than the photos show.
Starbucks
The Hilton Anaheim has a Starbucks on the property. It’s located net to the front desk check-in in the lobby.
The line wasn’t too bad for 10 AM on a Saturday but I imagine the early mornings are crazy packed with people before they head to Disneyland.
They do have a Hilton Honors line you can jump in like a Fastpass line. You will need to show your Hilton Honors card or app.
Like other hotel Starbucks locations, this one is massively overpriced. You’re better off picking up from the one in Downtown Disney.
Pool Bar
There is no pool bar. Don’t let them tell you there’s a pool bar. There’s just a QR code to scan and you order from the restaurant.
We didn’t end up ordering because of the insane $16 fees and I would assume if it’s coming across the entire hotel, you’re going to be waiting at least 30 minutes for drinks or food.
This was super disappointing.
Corner Eatery Food Court at Hilton Anaheim Hotel
The Hilton Anaheim has a small food court that caters to guests but mostly convention center attendees. Since it’s connected to the Anaheim Convention Center and gets a lot of foot traffic from big events, it helps to draw people in.
The food court didn’t seem bad. It wasn’t crowded at all but I’m sure during a big CON it can get packed.
The Hilton Anaheim Corner Eatery food court has four restaurants, Anaheim Burger Co., Crave Pizza, Coastal Mexican Kitchen, and Hearty Greens (closed when we visited).
Room Tour Hilton Anaheim
Our room wasn’t bad but I did feel like it needed to be updated. Like a lot of Hilton locations, it had the hospital-type-looking shower and everything was that terrible yellow-brown color.
I just feel like so many hotels have been renovated in Anaheim and it’s surprising that the Hilton hasn’t.
We did have a really great view of the pool and California Adventure, that was so fun! The view was the best part of the room.
The housekeeping staff was also super friendly!
There were parts of the room that were pretty worn out and needed to be replaced but just looked ignored instead.
Final Thoughts
In the end, I don’t think we would book at the Hilton Anaheim again. We really wanted to love it but it’s a skip for us.
The location is great and so are the rates but the confusion over costs, cleanliness, and how outdated it is are all big factors too.
